Chapter 61: Chapter 61

The late afternoon light filtered through sheer curtains in Celeste's home office, casting a warm but deceptive glow over a cluttered desk. Papers lay scattered around, a testament to her dogged determination to uncover the truth. Her luminous green eyes flickered to the bank statements spread out in front of her, disbelief in every crease in her brow. The payment that Caspian had set up for her home loan had never been paid to the bank,an oversight that sent a chill up her spine.

Celeste bent low, auburn hair falling over her shoulder as she studied the records closely. Her fingers skimmed over the digits, each discrepancy a needle prick in a malignant plot. Soren's fingerprints were impossible to miss, his shadow cast over every financial transaction. It struck her like a tidal wave, Soren had discovered a method to personally derail her and he was doing it, dismantling not only Hayes Enterprises but her safe haven.

A wave of frustration washed over her, her hands trembling at the rage she felt but more at the fear. An obscure clause in their nuptial agreement -which began as a complex matrix of legalese giving Soren indirect authority over specific financial transactions-was the linchpin of his duplicitous behaviour. Celeste read through the fine print, her breath quickening as each word sank in with a creeping sense of betrayal. This wasn't merely corporate sabotage; it was a personal assault designed to destabilize her and sap her will.

Celeste was set on exposing the manipulation; she required undeniable evidence. Picking up her phone, she urgently pressed her finger against Roman's number. "Roman, I found something. The payment never made it to the bank, and there is a clause in our marriage contract that links Soren to these transactions."

Roman's voice crackled on the speaker, touched with worry. "Are you sure?Let me see."

A few minutes later, Roman appeared with his steely features and sharpened eyebrows, missing nothing in his assessment of Celeste's findings. "This is bad," he mumbled, pointing to the secret clause. "Soren has literally been draining funds through these loopholes. If we uncover this, his claims could be rendered null, and we could be ahead of the game.

Celeste dared to hope despite the chaos. "We've got to bring him to justice, let the board see what he's been up to. "This might change everything."

But before they could devise a plan, Celeste's phone vibrated once more.A message flashed across the screen: "Watch your back. S.P."

Her heart raced, the text sending a jolt of terror through her bloodstream.Soren's reach was far wider than they had suspected, and the threat was suddenly all too real. Celeste was tempted to reach for Roman's hand, but she stayed her impulse, recognizing that the decision before them would be a critical one in the war to take back their lives and their corporation.

Celeste felt the weight of the impending confrontation settle over her as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across her home. She was not afraid; the road ahead was dangerous, yes, but it had always been. She was no longer just fighting for Hayes Enterprises; she was fighting for her home, her marriage, and the future she had fought to build with Caspian.

Soren's office had big glass doors that reflected the harsh afternoon sunlight, casting crisp patterns on the marble flooring. Caspian Montague pushed past them, his brushed black suit wrinkledI from long, sleepless nights plotting ways to counter Soren's ceaseless manoeuvres. The calm

facade he maintained was broken, transformed into a primał rage and a devil of revenge against the man who had turned on him.

Soren lounged at his chic desk, a perfect slouch coupled with an unassailable presence. His silver hair was perfectly coiffed, his icy blue eyes returning Caspian's gaze with the perfect combination of amusement and disdain. "Caspian," he said with practised smoothness, his voice nearly oozing faux cordiality. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

Caspian's jaw clenched, and his fists balled at his sides. "Cut the crap,Soren. You intercepted the funds earmarked for Celeste's home. Why?What do you want to achieve?"

Soren tilted back, lips curling into a smirk. "Isn't it obvious? I'm making sure Hayes Enterprises doesn't go under because of the shit show Caspian s dealing with right now. After all, stability is everything."

Celeste rushed to the door frame, eyes ablaze with fear and resolution."This isn't stability, Soren. It's sabotage. You're ripping our family apart for your own benefit.'

Soren's smirk broke for a nanosecond before he collected himself again."Family dynamics have nothing to do with business success. "If Celeste can't take the pressure, maybe she shouldn't be in this company."

Caspian stepped closer, each word louder than the last. You düzenled our marriage contract to take over our finances. How do you think you can take everything and then just walk away?" You're delusional."

Soren's eyes grew steely, his tone frosty. "You have no clue what you're playing with, Caspian. I've arranged proxy votes to quash any motion against me. Your efforts are futile."

Celeste shivered, understanding that Soren was pulling the strings completely in all their financial dealings, and that realization frightened her."You're not going to get away with this," she announced, her voice steady despite the fear she felt. "We're going to expose all your wrongs."

Soren got to his feet suddenly, his attitude switching from smug self-assurance to frigid threat. "'If you think you can make me stop, you're more naive than I ever thought. Return to Celeste, and I'll forgive her debts. It's that simple."

Caspian's gaze ignited with rage and exhaustion. "I'm not going to let you ruin our lives, Soren. This ends now."

But before he could say more, Soren opened his desk drawer, pulling out a fat stack of papers. "You leave me no choice," he said with a hiss, pushing the documents across the table. "These are proof of your own blunders, Caspian. Let's see how the board responds to your so-called leadership."

Soren's betrayal The papers tumbled into Caspian's shaking hands; the weight of Soren's lies heavy in the air. The walls fell around him in the confrontation's boiling point as the full scope of the betrayal was revealed.

Roman sat in a dimly lit office, surrounded by the smell of coffee and a single computer screen humming. Roman hunched over his laptop, eyes darting across lines of code and financial spreadsheets. The blue light from the screen emphasized his prominent features, allowing him to appear intense with distraction. One that made everything he'd known pale in comparison-financial trails that conclusively connected Soren Montague and Sterling Price in a nefarious scheme to undermine Caspian's leadership.

"Talia, you have to look at this," Roman said as Talia came into the room,

his voice urgent. There was a lithe grace and a fierce determination about her, her dark hair slicked back from her face as she stalked to the desk.

Talia winced at the screen, incredulous, as she sped through the facts."This is damning," she said quietly, as if in disbelíef. "They've been working together to try to unravel Caspian on all fronts. It's not just a corporate rivalry-it's personal."

Roman nodded, expression grim. "We need to move fast. And that if we can show this to Celeste and Caspian, it will blow their whole operation wide open and put the favour back in our corner."

As Celeste walked in the room, her face a cross between concern and determination. "What did you find?" she said, her eyes skimming the documents.

Roman passed her a folder, the contents detailing the extent of the collusion between Soren and Sterling. "We've uncovered that they've been laundering money through offshore accounts, bribing pivotal board members, and orchestrating corporate espionage to guarantee Caspian's downfall. It's a very well-run machine of deception."

Celeste thumbed through the pages, her jaw slack as she realized the extent of the betrayal. "We have to go public with this," she said, her voice steady even as the chaos erupted around them. "If we leak this to the press,it'll show everything they've been doing."

Talia moved forward with fire in her eyes. "There's a cursory entry in the financial records. It alludes to a bigger, secret plot. We have to decrypt it and see what they're up to next."

Roman's hands raced over the keyboard, a geekish proficiency perhaps the only thing that could decipher the message buried within. And when the

decrypted text flashed on the screen, their worst fears materialized-Soren and Sterling were plotting a grand coup that extended far beyond a corporate conspiracy to regain control of Hayes Enterprises.

Just as they were putting the last pieces of the puzzle together, the office door swung open. In came Valentina, her stature dominant and assertive."I have the missing piece," she said, waving a USB drive. "This has all the information we needed to take a full record of them."

Celeste drove, her heart racing with hope and urgency. "Let's get this to Caspian and take them down for good."

But as they got ready to put the plan into action, a figure lurking in the hallway watched, a grim indication that Soren and Sterling's influence reached far further than they'd suspected. Little did they know their discovery of the unholy alliance was only the tip of the iceberg, and the real war for Hayes Enterprises had only just begun.
