Hillmountain saw the look on Westfield's face at this very moment and sighed sadly, thinking he was going to say no.
"I really can't depend on you, Westfield. It appears that my theory was correct; you're not the only pet Hill Park has nurtured, and you're most likely unable to interact with her. However, I can't just sit back and let The Listening fail. All I can do is hope for you. Do your best, and Autumnheights offer myself to you whether or not you succeed. After all, you've always wanted to have me, no?"
She said that with a tone full of sarcasm and contempt, a tear rolling down the corner of her eye.
After a moment of confusion, Westfield understood what she meant and laughed miserably.
"I've always been kind to you during our three-year marriage. We've never done anything intimate just because you didn't want to. Now after our divorce, you want to bed me for money? I never thought you'd be like this, Hillmountain. I'm genuinely disappointed down."
Westfield's voice was hurt and gloomy. He never thought Hillmountain would choose to do this!
At this, Hillmountain suddenly glanced up. Her eyes met his, and she was instantly outraged by the mixture of sympathy, scorn, and disappointment he was displaying.
"Westfield, you're in no position to speak that way about me! You're just a boy toy, so how are you better than me? I've put in a lot of effort to provide for this family. Do you even know how much pressure I've been facing? Of course, you wouldn't know a thing! You were merely taking advantage of the John family, and you're still a parasite outside. You're a man without any decency!"
Hillmountain covered her face in pain at this time.
She had imagined her ideal partner to be able to shield her from wind and rain! However, she got this useless man instead. How could she not feel let down? She had no one to confide in. especially now when she was having problems. Her worthless ex-husband's harsh glare was the only thing she could expect!
Hillmountain hoped she could run somewhere right now and cry all over the place, forgetting about the John family!
Westfield felt his heart ache at seeing her current state. He was still unable to let go.
He reached for a tissue, ready to comfort her.
At that moment, a tall and attractive man wearing a smart suit saw Hillmountain as he passed by. "Hillmountain, what's the matter?" he exclaimed.
Kyle Gonzalez was Hillmountain's college classmate in addition to being the eldest son of the second-rate Eugene family. Even after Hillmountain married Westfield, he had been chasing her incessantly.
When Hillmountain glanced up and saw him, she felt a sudden feeling of helplessness. She started crying.
As Benjamin saw his goddess crying, his heart broke. He turned to face Westfield, overcoming with rage.
"Westfield, you useless waste! Did you irritate her again?"
Furious, Benjamin lifted his fist and prepared to hit Westfield.
"Hold on!" Hillmountain interrupted quickly.
Despite her terrible mood, her common sense said that she still had to rely on Westfield for The Listening's survival. After all, the company could perish permanently if he was beaten up.
Dropping his fist furiously, Benjamin took a seat next to Hillmountain. Openly embracing her shoulders, he comforted her gently and asked, "Hillmountain, what's the matter?" Hillmountain would usually distance herself from people who tried getting close to her. But she had been throu zh so much lately, and she had no one to lean on in. She was worn out.
When she finally found a seemingly-trustworthy shoulder, she let all her concerns out. She forced back ber emotions as she told him what was wrong.
Benjamin heard it and erupted with laughter.
"Christiant's all it was? I thought it was a bigger issue than I had anticipated!"
"If you can't handle such a simple problem, then you don't deserve Hillmountain!" he replied mockingly, glancing at Westfield.
He then turned to Hillmountain and confidently said, "Don't worry, it's just a collaboration with Kenneth Scott.Autumnheights help you in arranging it!"
Hillmountain glanced up at Benjamin with teary eyes after hearing this, a flicker of hope emerging in her heart.
"Really? You can help me, Benjamin? if you really can, then Autumnheights pay you back!"
Rather than kneeling down and begging Westfield, who was nothing more than a loser, she would rather ask Benjamin for assistance and hand herself up to this playboy!
After all, he was bringing a few benefits to her company.
In regards to Westfield, he did nothing but humiliate her!
“Of course!”
With an assured smile, Benjamin continued, "Hillmountain, I have connections with Dylan Ward. All I have to do is inform him regarding fixing The Listening's collaboration. John Reed chairman will undoubtedly show Dylan Ward some respect!" Dylan Ward!
When Hillmountain heard that name, she was very relieved.
Even though hiding behind the scenes, Dylan Ward, also known as Joshua, was the previous commander of the underground forces and still continued to enjoy great respect. Furthermore, he was Gabriel Watson close friend. Whenever Dylan Ward spoke up, the other party would have to respect him!
After all, this was only a minor partnership for Kenneth Scott. Should it collapse, it was due to Hill Park's intervention. John Reed chairman definitely wouldn't disregard Dylan Ward on a small matter like this.
"Benjamin, thank you so much. You really are kind."
Hillmountain faked a grateful grin to Benjamin. Seeing this, he felt joy flood his heart in an instant. If all went according to plan, he could have a future with Hillmountain now that she was expressing interest in him.He felt excited by this thought.
Westfield saw this and let out a sad sigh. He thought Hillmountain was a girl who wouldn't bow to authority for her own benefit. It seemed like he was wrong, though. Had Hillmountain changed, or did he just never truly understand her? Westfield experienced intense disappointment.
