Chapter44 The Enchanting Pearl
"There really is a key!" Redsprings's eyes lit up instantly.
Westfield picked up the key and was about to open the small box on the table.
Redsprings suddenly interrupted,“Master, let me leave first. You can take your time to look at it!"
Westfield was surprised for a moment before seriously saying.“Why are you leaving? Who can I trust if I can't even trust you?"
Upon hearing this, Redsprings didn't argue or try to leave anymore.
Westfield didn't say anything more and, under Redsprings's eyes, inserted the key and opened the box!
When they sawv inside it, both of them were immediately shocked.
There was only a robin egg-sized sphere, entirely blue with nothing else!
"There's only a small bead inside?" Redsprings looked at the bead.surprised as he asked. On the other hand, Westfield was silent.
Since his mother left this for him, it meant that this bead was extraordinary!
Taking it out, Westfield carefully examined it.
Seeing that Westfield was still silent after observing it, Redsprings asked.“Sir,do you notice anything?"
"Did I notice anything special?" Westfield looked at the bead again, absentmindedly holding it in his palm as he showed Redsprings a helpless look. But at this moment, his expression suddenly changed.
"Redsprings, hold this bead in your palm and see if you feel coldness seeping into your hand."
With the same expresson, he looked at Redsprings and immediately gave him the bead. Redsprings was surprised for a second, but still followed suit. He took a closer look at the bead before closing his hand around it. However, after waiting for a while, he didn't feel anything.
He showed confusion to Westfield as he handed the bead back.
"You really didn't feel anything?"
Westfield was stunned by Redsprings's reaction, quickly trying again. The moment he held the bead in his palm, he indeed felt distinct coldness creeping into it. Could it be that only he could feel it? Or was this bead able to recognize its owner?
“Sir, please continue your research and rest well. I won't disturb you any further," Seeing Westfield focused on the bead, Redsprings directly left the room.
Westfield was immersed, seemingly unaware of Redsprings's departure.Shortly after, he was surprised to find that the coldness indeed seeped into his palm, spreading all over his wrist, arm, and throughout his body.
The cool sensation made him extremely comfortable, and it even treated most of his injuries! This bead's coldness unexpectedly had a healing effect!
Without realizing. Westfield sat while holding the bead all night without feeling any fatigue or discomfort. He didn't wake up until dawn, when Redsprings knocked on the door.
"It's already bright out? All my injuries have somehow healed!”
He glanced at the rising sun outside the window, realizing that all his wounds had disappeared!
"Sir, you're awake." Redsprings walked, surprised to see Westfield sitting on the chair. Westfield's heart skipped a beat, swallowing his words. It wasn't that he didn't want Redsprings knowing this bead's ability; some things were just best unsaid. He should only keep this to himself, and he can't even let his closest person know. Otherwise, it might bring trouble!
"Redsprings, you came at the right time. There's something I need you to do!" Westfield immediately said.
"Please give your orders. Sir!" Redsprings didn't think much of it and simply responded respectfully.
"Go to Citibank immediately. Autumnheights give you the key and password.I want you to get all the contracts and other information inside!"
Westfield gave Redsprings a note containing the password and the key to the safe.
"If we don't need them now, shouldn't we just keep them in the safe?" Redsprings asked, somewhat surprised.
"No,we need to retrieve them before the Jeremys can take action. After that, I need you to take these documents and go to the offshore company in Springbay. Keep them safe and manipulate the company to cooperate with my actions when necessary!”Westfield instructed seriously.
"But what will you do while I'm gone?" Redsprings asked worriedly.
"I'd less likely be targeted if I'm alone, and it'll be easier for me to do anything. If you stay, the worst that could happen is that if we
get attacked. I might have to return and save you!' Westfield sighed.Donald Ortiz embarrassed. Although he knew some martial arts.he wasn't skilled enough.
Redsprings shook his head and smiled bitterly, "Sir, what you said makes sense. If I stay, Autumnheights only be a burden to you."
In the end, he agreed to Westfield's request and left Meadow Park with the documents, helping Westfield from behind the scenes.
Meanwhile, in Ridgeland's New Falls, Ridgeland had just finished making breakfast. She was about to go and wake Westfield up, realizing he wasn't in his room.
When she found the letter, she immediately ran up to the rooftop. She held the letter as she asked Robert. "Robert, did you say something to Westfield?"
"Douglas, are you suspicious of me?" Robert responded calmly.
She angrily asked again,"If it weren't for you, why would Westfield leave without a goodbye last night? You promised me three days!"
0
"Believe it or not, they left on their own. Have you ever considered that instead of sticking around you all the time. they'd have their own matters to settle?" Robert sighed helplessly.
Upon hearing this. Ridgeland froze on the spot. Westfield's letter, besides expressing gratitude, did mention that he had important things to do. Could she have wrongly accused Robert?
She took out her phone and dialed Westfield's number. As Westfield watched Redsprings leave the New Falls, he received a call from Ridgeland.
“Westfield, why did you leave without saying a thing?" the moment he picked up, she asked in annoyance.
"It would be too much trouble for you if I stayed, and I have something important to take care of. I knew if I told you in person, you would try to persuade me otherwise, so I could only leave quietly!” Westfield explained with a wry smile.
Westfield knew that Ridgeland would call him after reading the note in the morning, so he had anticipated her call,
She finally relaxed when she heard Westfield's determined tone.
knowing he wasn't lying. "Well, if there's something you need. just tell me. Maybe I can lend a hand."
At that moment, the New Falls's doorbell suddenly rang.
Westfield's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately said. "I have something to do. Autumnheights explain later!"
After hanging up, he walked to the window and parted the curtains to glance out front. Soon, a peculiar expression appeared on his face.
