After tidying up, Westfield prepared to go to the Jacob family's residence.But at that moment, Frances appeared at his New Falls gate.

He asked as he opened the door,"Do you need anything?"

"The necklace you wanted is ready!" she glanced at his condition, relieved to see that he was energetic and didn't look like an injured person.

Taking the necklace, Westfield took the bead out and found it a perfect fit,inserting it into the necklace's base and putting the necklace on.

He smiled and nodded in satisfaction, "It's great! Christiannks for the trouble."

Frances asked."Are you leaving somewhere? Where are you going?I can give you a ride since I'm heading to the company!"

"Sounds good. Autumnheights hitch a ride with Dylan to Lakeside Villa Area!" Westfield accepted her offer without hesitation, smiling and nodding.

However, just like before, after he got in the car, he glanced in his New Falls's direction and immediately noticed that many withered leaves seemed to have fallen from the tree next to his window. The branches and twigs were almost entirely leafless!

Westfield had forgotten about this last time, and seeing it again piqued his curiosity. He decided to figure it out once he returned.

After about ten minutes, Frances dropped him off at Lakeside Vlla Area's entrance. From a distance, he saw a graceful figure eagerly waiting for him at the roadside.

He unconsciously smiled. Frances, who was driving, couldn't help but feel slight jealousy as she saw this scene. Perhaps a man like him could only be matched with an innocent, wealthy woman like that.

'Frances, don't forget that you're already old, Why are you still indulging in such wishful thinking?' Forced a bitter smile, she started the car again and quickly left under Ridgeland's curious gaze.

Ridgeland immediately pouted and asked while upset, “Be honest with me,who was that beautiful girl in the car?"

Westfield teased,“You look like a jealous little pig right now. Christiant's Frances;she's just my business partner. I guess you could say I'm also her boss now! Anyway, didn't you say Old Bobby Gonzalez is waiting for me? Let's quickly go inside."

"You dare call me a pig? Have you ever seen one as cute as me? Moreover,are you calling me fat? Autumnheights hit you!"

Ridgeland immediately swung her fists at Westfield, but the force she used felt more ticklish than painful, almost like playful banter.

The two of them playfully continued toward the New Falls district, occasionally catching envious looks from the security guards.

Just as they entered the Jacob family's gate, they heard Clarence yelling coming from deep within the yard.

Westfield and Ridgeland stopped playing around anad glanced in the voice's direction.

Westfield finally remembered the matter at hand, asking in a low voice,“What's wrong with Old Bobby Gonzalez? You arrived early, right? Did anything happen?”

"I don't know the details, but Madison said that he apparently sent Eugene and Zachary to take over a small company in a very remote area overnight,Ridgeland explained,shaking her head.

Westfield sighed.Clarence was really still soft-hearted! It was clear Eugene was the culprit behind the poisoning, though whether Zachary was involved or not was still unclear. Nevertheless, a harsh punishment wouldn't have been surprising with such a serious matter. However, Westfield didn't expect them to merely be assigned to a remote area!

When they arrived in the backyard garden, they saw why Clarence was angry. Six trees he planted here had strangely withered!

“You forgot to water my babies these past few days, didn't you?" Clarence questioned a middle-aged servant, clearly quite upset about the dead trees.

“Jesse, Westfield's here!" Standing at the side, Madison was relieved and quickly notified Clarence.

Clarence looked at Westfield for a moment, his unpleasant expression softening slightly.

However, Westfield couldn't help but be focused on those withered trees, their appearance eerily similar to the tree in his New Falls yard!

"Old Bobby Gonzalez, is the window on the second floor your room?"he raised his head and looked at the window directly above the tree,

furrowing his brows involuntarily.

His seemingly-random question puzzled the others.

Madison answered for Clarence, "Yes, that's Jesse's room.Why do you ask?”

“It's nothing. Seems like Old Bobby Gonzalez treasures these trees a lot,"Westfield responded as if he had realized something, but he didn't explain further. It would be shocking to say certain things here, so it was best to keep quiet.

However,Clarence looked deeply at Westfield before chuckling.

He said,"Since you've arrived, come with me to the study. I have something to discuss with you privately.”

"You go chat with Madison, and Autumnheights have a conversation with the old master!"Westfield told Ridgeland before following behind Clarence.

Clarence's study was on the New Falls's 1st floor. After they entered, Clarence closed the door and motioned for Westfield to sit on the couch.

After sitting down, he went straight to the point,“Westfield,do you know why I called you here today?"

Westfield nodded with a smile, “I'm assuming you've already settled your matters.”

“You're indeed smarter than I thought. However, that's only part of it.What amazed me even more was the strength you displayed last night!"Clarence's deep gaze fixed onto Westfield.

Westfield was slightly surprised, but he quickly becamne relieved.“Old Bobby Gonzalez is truly knowledgeable. I'm glad my performance last night didn't disappoint you!”

Clarence sighed and earnestly reminded, “It precisely shocked me! However,please don't blame me for being honest here; had you gone further last night, I wouldn't have intervened anymore. I can give you my life since I owe you it, but I can't risk my Jacob family for you!”

Upon hearing this, Westfield burst into laughter. “I understand. So, have you made a decision?"

Clarence bluntly shook his head, "It's still too early to say. We both know how powerful the Jeremy family is. Moreover, you're still too weak to stand against them!"
