Chapter 161: Chapter 161

The midday sun streamed through the kitchen window as Jenna Roland bustled by the stove, an apron tied around her waist.

The doorbell rang abruptly.

She wiped her hands and hurried to the foyer to answer it.

Ethan Roscente stood at the door, dressed in an impeccably tailored black suit with a perfectly knotted tie. His sharp features looked even more striking in the sunlight. A casually dressed young man stood behind him.

"Mr. Roscente." Jenna smiled in greeting, then glanced at his companion. "And this is?"

"Justin Kemnis, from the charity foundation," Ethan introduced tersely.

Justin stepped forward with a sunny grin. "Miss Roland, it's an honor to finally meet you."

His tanned skin made his teeth appear brilliantly white, and his cropped hair gave him a clean-cut, energetic look.

Jenna nodded politely. "Mr. Kemnis, I'm Jenna Roland. Please come in."

She stepped aside to let them enter, then closed the door behind them.

In the living room, Jenna brought two glasses of lemon water. "Lunch will be ready soon. Please make yourselves comfortable."

Justin's gaze followed her. "You're even more beautiful than the rumors say."

Jenna's ears turned pink. She glanced at Ethan's impassive face. "Excuse me while I finish in the kitchen."

The moment the kitchen door shut, Justin eagerly leaned toward Ethan. "Damn, you lucky bastard! Where'd you find such a gorgeous wife?"

Ethan didn't even look up from his documents.

"Hey!" Justin nudged him with an elbow. "Does she have any single friends? Hook me up."

Ethan finally lifted his eyes, giving him a frosty glare. "Don't you have work to do?"

"I'm just happy for you!" Justin threw up his hands dramatically. "If I had a wife who could cook like that, I'd come home for every meal."

Ethan closed his file. "Then go help in the kitchen."

"You're impossible—" Justin began to complain when the kitchen door opened.

Jenna emerged carrying the final dish. "Lunch is served."

The table was set with six aromatic, beautifully presented dishes. Justin's eyes widened. "You made all this?"

"Just some home cooking," Jenna said modestly.

Justin stared at the braised pork ribs, practically drooling. "This is restaurant-quality!"

He took a bite and his face lit up. "Incredible!"

Ethan picked up his chopsticks with deliberate grace, the faintest hint of a smile tugging at his lips.
