Chapter 174: Chapter 174

"Jenna, I promise no one can touch you." Tristan Ashcroft's gaze was sharp as a blade, his voice low and resolute.

He had never been this serious before.

Jenna clenched the hem of her shirt, her fingertips turning pale. "Boss, I have to resign."

If it weren't for Ethan Roscente's influence, he would never let her go.

But Ethan's woman was someone he couldn't afford to cross.

Tristan took a deep breath, shifting his gaze away from her. He stared at the closed VIP room door and took five quick drags from his cigarette.

"Do as you wish," he finally said.

Jenna bowed deeply. "Thank you for everything."

Tristan smirked. "If the orchard doesn't work out, you can always come back."

"Okay." She forced a weak smile before turning to leave.

The moment the door shut, Tristan crushed his cigarette and dialed Gavin Valentine.

"Gavin, Jenna's resigning," he stated bluntly.

Gavin, just waking up, bolted upright. "What? She was doing great!"

"The Red Cross donated a million for her brother's surgery," Tristan muttered. "She's going back to run the orchard and fight for her inheritance."

Gavin took a sip of water. "Isn't that good? That place wasn't right for her."

"But she was my top earner," Tristan gritted out.

Gavin lit a cigarette. "Calling me won't change anything."

"Forget it." Tristan hung up abruptly.

Shaking his head, Gavin dialed Ethan instead.

"Ethan, did you know Jenna's resigning?"

"No." The voice on the other end was icy.

"Should I still keep an eye on the club?" Gavin scratched his short hair.

Ethan's tone dropped even colder. "She hasn't left yet."

"Fine." Gavin scowled and ended the call.
