Before she could finish, Ethan's leather shoe connected sharply with her shin.

The kick was forceful enough to make Sophie nearly jump out of her seat.

She pouted in protest, certain she hadn't said anything wrong.

Jenna Roland immediately noticed the disturbance. "What happened?"

Rubbing her sore leg, Sophie quickly amended her statement. "I meant academically. Big brother never ranked first in school, but Ethan was the top of the top."

"Really?" Jenna's eyes brightened as she gazed at Ethan with newfound admiration. "No wonder Mr. Roscente became HM Group's director at such a young age. You're truly exceptional."

Ethan's stern expression softened slightly.

He cleared his throat. "Let's eat."

"Of course." Jenna nodded obediently before turning to Sophie. "You should eat more too."

"Thanks, sis!" Sophie cheerfully picked up a piece of braised pork. "Your cooking beats Michelin chefs. Did you train professionally?"

Jenna shook her head. "My mother was an excellent cook. I learned everything from her."

"It's in your blood!" Sophie praised between bites. "The sweet and sour ribs are perfectly seasoned."

Thanks to Sophie's unexpected visit, the four dishes and soup prepared for dinner were completely devoured.

Sophie wiped her mouth contentedly. "Sis, I really imposed on you today."

"Don't mention it." Jenna smiled warmly. "Next time just let me know in advance, and I'll prepare more of my specialties."

"Perfect!" Sophie immediately pulled out her phone. "Let's exchange contacts first."

As soon as they swapped numbers, Ethan abruptly stood up.

"Sophie, help clean up." He glanced at his watch. "I'm returning to the office."

Shortly after Ethan left, Sophie's phone vibrated.

The screen displayed a stark warning from Ethan: Watch your mouth.

Sophie rolled her eyes and tossed her phone aside, continuing to help Jenna clear the table.

After washing the dishes, Jenna thoughtfully brought over two cups of floral tea.

"Try this. It aids digestion." She placed a cup gently before Sophie.

"Thanks, sis!" Sophie accepted it with both hands. After taking a sip, her eyes lit up. "This is amazing!"
