Chapter 199: Chapter 199

Jenna Roland noticed the sudden glow of Jason Roland's phone screen. Her eyes narrowed as she read the caller ID. His expression darkened instantly.

He switched off the TV abruptly and strode toward the bedroom, gripping his phone.

Jenna arched a brow.

Since when did customer service calls require privacy?

She crept to the bedroom door, pressing her ear against it.

"Just got home. Remember that bitch I told you about? She's back."

"Who knows what she's scheming."

"Enough about her. Baby, did you miss me?"

"Good. See you soon."

Jenna slipped back to the living room and grabbed a broom, pretending to sweep.

A cold smirk curled her lips.

She'd come for evidence. This was an unexpected bonus.

Jason flung the door open and scoffed at the sight of Jenna cleaning. He marched past her without a word.

Jenna watched him change his shoes.

Off to meet his secret lover.

If Heidi Roland knew...

She dropped the broom and followed.

The elevator doors slid shut just as she arrived. Jenna jabbed the button for the next one.

In the lobby, Jason disappeared through the revolving doors. Jenna adjusted her cap and trailed behind.

At the curb, he ducked into a private car. She flagged down a taxi.

Twenty minutes later, a hotel sign loomed ahead.

Jenna waited until Jason entered the elevator before approaching the front desk.

"Which room did that gentleman take? I need the one next to his."

The receptionist eyed her skeptically. "And you are...?"

"His sister." Jenna feigned concern. "He's meeting some online fling. I'm worried he's being catfished."

After checking her ID, the clerk handed over a keycard.

Room 504.

The moment Jenna stepped inside, stiletto clicks echoed from next door.

Through the peephole, a woman in a skin-tight black dress swayed into 503.

Jenna snapped a photo.

Her lip curled in disdain.

Did Heidi know what trash her husband really was?

Pressing her ear to 503's door, Jenna heard nothing.

The soundproofing was annoyingly effective.
