Chapter 278: Chapter 278

"Believe it or not." Victor Roland snorted, his eyes flickering with unease.

Fiona Roland pulled a manila envelope from her crocodile leather purse and slid it toward Jenna. "The orchard transfer agreement. Just sign it."

Jenna eyed them warily, her fingers tracing the edges before opening it. She scrutinized every clause, every punctuation mark.

Black ink on white paper—it was indeed a legitimate contract.

"After scheming to steal that orchard, you're suddenly willing to give it back?" Jenna tossed the document onto the coffee table and crossed her arms. "Or did karma finally catch up?"

Victor sighed. "We've made enough over the years. Your father was right—greed destroys." He rubbed his hands. "The orchard was always yours."

Jenna narrowed her eyes. Since when did this fox change its nature?

"You sign first." She pushed the contract back.

Victor took the pen Jason handed him and scrawled his signature. The ink bled across the paper like an ominous stain.

"Convinced now?" He slid it toward her.

Jenna smirked. "Don't think this erases everything." She stuffed the contract into her bag. "We're done here."

Victor's eyes reddened. "I failed you and your brother—"

"Save it." Jenna cut him off, nails digging into her palms.

Under the chandelier's glow, a vein throbbed at Victor's temple. Fiona stomped on his foot under the table.

Waiters began serving dishes. Jenna picked up a piece of sweet-and-sour ribs—tender, glistening with glaze.

"Any plans for the orchard?" Victor asked casually.

"Rebuilding it. Not your concern." She dabbed her lips and excused herself.

The moment Jenna left, Fiona swiftly pulled a small vial from her Hermès bag. White powder dusted the tiramisu as she swapped the dessert plates.

"Mom, what if—" Jason's voice shook.

Fiona's red lips curved. "Then we take her by force."
