Chapter 310: Chapter 310

Jenna's fingertips trembled slightly.

She recognized the tall figure at the end of the hallway instantly.

Lucien Valois.

Memories of that night at the club came flooding back.

She instinctively ducked into the nearest hospital room.

The lock clicked softly behind her.

Jenna leaned against the cold door, her heart pounding like a drum.

Damn it.

This hospital had dozens of departments and thousands of rooms.

Why did she have to run into him?

Had he seen her?

"Young lady."

A kind voice startled her.

Jenna turned to see a silver-haired grandmother sitting on the bed.

The old woman's eyes crinkled into crescents. "Could you open the door? My family's here."

"Of course."

Jenna took a deep breath.

She turned the doorknob.

Her blood ran cold.

Lucien stood right outside.

A stunning woman clung to his arm.

"Who are you?"

The woman frowned slightly.

Jenna's mind raced.

"Sorry, wrong room."

She kept her head down and rushed past them.

Her shoulder brushed against Lucien's suit jacket.

The faint scent of cedarwood filled her nostrils.

"I need to take this call."

Lucien's voice followed her.

Jenna practically dove into the next room.

"Sis? What's wrong?"

Her brother Milo looked up in confusion.

Jenna stared through the door's glass panel.

Lucien appeared in the hallway.

He held a phone to his ear.

But his gaze locked onto the hospital room.

Cold sweat trickled down Jenna's back.

Was this man insane?

His wife was right next door.

Yet he had the audacity to follow her?

After a tense moment,

Lucien finally turned away.

Jenna exhaled shakily.

Her legs gave out.

She collapsed onto the edge of the bed.
