Chapter 344: Chapter 344

"Did you remember what I said?" Ethan's voice was icy, his gaze sharp.

Jenna pressed her lips together and nodded reluctantly. "I did."

Ethan scoffed and strode away without another word.

She watched his retreating figure, fingers tangling in her hair in confusion.

What was his problem?

He'd been forced into this marriage by Grandma Blanche. He clearly didn't like her. So why did he care so much about her response?

Jenna rolled her eyes, her expression dismissive.

Only when Ethan's taxi disappeared around the corner did she return to her stall.

Tanya immediately scooted closer, eyes bright with excitement. "Jenna, was that really your husband?"

"Technically," Jenna replied flatly.

"What do you mean 'technically'?" Tanya frowned.

Jenna looked up. "We're married on paper. No feelings involved."

Tanya stood abruptly. "Legally, you're husband and wife. And he's gorgeous! He even treats you well. Why not give it a real shot?"

"Treats me well?" Jenna's brows knitted together.

"He helped you sell clothes earlier. Then he publicly announced your marriage with his arm around you. Would he go that far if he didn't like you?"

Jenna froze.

Tanya's words triggered a memory—waking up that morning to find Ethan lying beside her.

Had that been... intentional?

And just now, when she'd said Ethan didn't have a girlfriend, he'd clearly been angry.

A shiver ran down Jenna's spine.

Oh god. Could Ethan actually have feelings for her?

Tanya nudged her. "Hey, what's with the spaced-out look?"

"Why would he like me?" The words tumbled out before Jenna could stop them.

Tanya laughed. "You're beautiful and capable. Who wouldn't fall for you? Too bad you're already taken."

"Too bad?" Jenna arched an eyebrow.

Tanya sighed. "I was going to introduce you to my son. Now that's off the table. Though honestly, compared to your husband, my boy wouldn't stand a chance."

Jenna bit back a laugh.

If they hadn't been in public, she would've doubled over with laughter.
