Jenna's grip on her phone tightened.

Lucien did desire her, but Stella had warned her to stay away from that dangerous man.

After hanging up, Jenna took a deep breath and dialed Ethan.

"My friend's sister is missing. The police have no leads. She used to be Lucien Valois' mistress. I suspect—"

"How is this your concern?"

Ethan's voice turned icy.

"She's my closest friend. At the club, her sister bought me time to escape..."

Jenna's voice shook. "She took a beating from Lucien to save me. Now she's vanished. I can't abandon her."
