Yvonne looked down at her bloodied palm, the stinging pain radiating through her entire body.
She had grown up pampered in the Yang family, and after marrying into the Valois household, she was treated like royalty.
Yet today, Sylvia had publicly slapped her and forced her to kneel and beg for mercy.
Yvonne struggled to stand, but her knees buckled, forcing her back to the ground.
"Jenna, Ethan is targeting the Yang family!" Her voice trembled. "Please, for old times' sake, make him stop!"
Jenna frowned.
Ethan was just a department head. How could he possibly shake the mighty Yang family?
She stepped forward, looking down at Yvonne. "Don't make baseless accusations."
Yvonne desperately grabbed her pant leg. "My father told me himself!"
Jenna jerked her leg free and kicked Yvonne in the shoulder. "Shut up!"
Yvonne fell onto her back but suddenly burst into laughter. "So you don't know his real identity?"
Jenna's heart skipped a beat.
"Ethan isn't just a department head," Yvonne wiped blood from her lips. "He's the true power behind HM Group!"
Stella gasped. "That's absurd!"
Vincent and Yves exchanged glances, their faces paling.
This was bad.
The secret Ethan had worked so hard to keep was about to be exposed.
Jenna's hands shook as she dialed his number. "Ethan, tell her yourself—who are you really?"
In the executive office of HM Group, Ethan's pen snapped in half.
"Just a department head," he said calmly. "Don't listen to her lies."
Yvonne's eyes widened.
Why was he lying?
Jenna stared at her phone screen, watching the call timer tick away.
The rustling of papers came through the speaker.
Then Ethan's breathing suddenly became unnervingly clear.
