Chapter 46: Chapter 46

"You should go stop Jason first." Jenna paused, then shook her head. "Never mind. Let him be. I'll keep working here until Milo finds out."

She cared about nothing except her younger brother Milo.

As long as Milo remained unaware, everything was manageable.

Sean frowned. "You really don't care about their gossip?"

Jenna gave a bitter smile. "Big brother, when Milo and I were desperate, which one of them lifted a finger? Their opinions mean nothing to me now."

"If that's how you feel..." Sean picked up his coat. "I'll go check on things. I'll explain if needed."

"Don't bother." Her eyes turned icy. "Let them talk."

"You're my sister. I protect my family." Sean turned to Tristan and the others. "Continue without me. We'll meet another time."

Without waiting for a response, he strode out of the private room.

Tristan looked guilty. "Jenna, I'm sorry. I didn't know you—"

"What's done is done." She cut him off. "No point hiding it now. Enjoy yourselves. I have work to do."

Sophia nodded silently, watching Jenna leave before raising her glass again.

......

In the Roland family living room, Jason was dramatically recounting Jenna's "escort work" at the club.

Sean entered with a dark expression. "She sells drinks. That's not the same as being an escort."

Jason sneered and turned to Victor. "Dad, look! Big brother's still defending that bitch!"

"Shut your mouth!" Sean's eyes flashed dangerously. "After all these years of her slaving for you, this is how you repay her?"

Victor slammed the table. "You insolent brat! Who's your real brother? Taking an outsider's side—have you no shame?"

"Outsider?" Sean laughed coldly. "Dad, whose orchard is it? Whose pockets have been lined with its profits? Jenna cooks, cleans, pays rent and living expenses here. Where's your conscience?"

Victor's face turned purple with rage. Fiona looked ashen.

"Her father was your own brother!" Sean's words struck like daggers. "She shares our blood and name. Call her an outsider again—see if you can face our ancestors in the afterlife."

"You ungrateful wretch!" Victor hurled a teacup at him. "Keep defending that slut, and you can get out too!"
