Chapter 149: Chapter 149

A Brilliant Move

The comment read: "Tea time! I work with Evelyn. Our company has very high hiring standards."

"Somehow, she, a total newbie, got the highest interview score. It's insane."

"Rumor is, she has a 'special connection' to one of the interviewers. That's how she got the job so easily."

The commenter added more fuel.

"And she's a nightmare to work with. Most of us can't stand her."

"She uses her connections with big clients to throw her weight around."

"She acts like she owns the place. She's seriously problematic."

"I can't believe she'd do something like this. It's unbelievable."

The comment shot to the top of the thread.

Likes poured in. Questions flooded the replies.

"OP, what company does she work for?"

"I have a brilliant idea! Let's report her to her company."

"No boss will tolerate an employee like that. Let's get her fired!"

"Come on! Someone find out the company name! I'm ready to attack!"

Marisol and Isabella watched the online mob with smug satisfaction.

"These people are so gullible," Marisol said, a pleased smile on her face. "They'll believe anything we tell them."

Isabella grinned. "Marisol, you're a genius. This was a brilliant move. If this continues, Evelyn is finished."

Meanwhile, Genevieve scrolled through the hateful comments on her phone.

A wide, excited grin was plastered on her face.

She had only planted a few seeds.

Unbelievably, so many people had taken the bait.

With Beatrice Sterling out of the country, no one could come to Evelyn's rescue.

Genevieve smirked. She knew Evelyn wouldn't survive this.

As the online hatred for Evelyn peaked, Isabella felt a rush of pure triumph.

After so many defeats, she finally relished watching Evelyn's downfall.

She remembered Evelyn's past arrogance with bitter clarity.

Scrolling through the endless hate, Isabella's spirits soared.

But she reminded herself to stay focused. This was not the time to get carried away.

After a moment of contemplation, Isabella decided to call Evelyn directly.

Evelyn answered promptly.

Isabella paused, hearing only silence on the other end.

She assumed Evelyn was drowning in despair from the online backlash.

Adopting a deceptively gentle tone, Isabella inquired, "Evelyn, starting to feel the pressure?"

Evelyn responded evenly, "Isabella, what's your point?"

Isabella scoffed. "Evelyn, I suggest you drop the charges against Julian and issue a public apology to us."

"This is your last chance. Otherwise, you'll live to regret it." Her voice hardened with warning.

Evelyn let out a dry laugh. "Isabella, you have your facts twisted. You started this smear campaign."

"If anyone owes an apology, it's you to me. The public might be clueless, but you know the truth."

"Julian betrayed me because of you. That's why I married my husband."

She then quipped, "You and Marisol are masters of manipulation, always playing the victim."

"Isabella!" Evelyn hissed, her teeth clenched. "You're still talking tough, huh?"
