236 This Swimsuit Is All Wrong
Alexander looked at her. "Why not go for a swim?"
Evelyn frowned, looking troubled. "I didn't pack a swimsuit."
She hadn't brought anything else either. This outing had been a complete surprise, planned entirely by him.
Hearing her concern, Alexander raised an eyebrow. "Don't worry about that. I'll have someone bring one."
"Really?" Evelyn asked, surprised.
True to his word, within half an hour, a bag containing a swimsuit was delivered.
Evelyn quickly opened it. But the moment she saw the contents, her cheeks burned crimson.
Her heart hammered loudly in her chest.
Acting on impulse, she shoved the swimsuit back into the bag, her expression one of pure shock.
Alexander, who hadn't seen it, was baffled by her reaction. "What's wrong? Changed your mind about swimming?"
He was about to suggest an alternative activity when Evelyn bit her lip, visibly torn. "Maybe there was a mistake? This isn't the kind of swimsuit I wear."
She searched for the right words. "This swimsuit is all wrong."
Puzzled, Alexander pressed for clarity. "What's the problem with it?"
Evelyn blushed even deeper. She hesitated before confessing, "It's a bikini. It's far too revealing. I'm not comfortable wearing something like that."
Understanding dawned on him, and a teasing glint appeared in his eyes. "We're completely alone here. What is there to be shy about?"
Evelyn shot him a playful glare, not expecting his jest. "Absolutely not! Why should I be the only one dressed like that? It's not fair!"
Intrigued, Alexander suggested, "Oh? Should I join you in the water, then?"
Evelyn glanced at the wheelchair beside him. "Can you even swim?"
He replied in a casual, offhand tone. "Not very well. I might need you to rescue me if I start swallowing water."
Evelyn was amused yet speechless. She frowned and crossed her arms. "You should definitely stay out of the water. You're too heavy for me to pull out. We'd both end up drowning."
Alexander nodded solemnly. "A shame. I suppose I'll have to content myself with cheering you on from the sidelines."
However, he immediately asked someone to fetch a different swimsuit for her, a more conservative one-piece.
Despite their many intimate moments, Evelyn remained surprisingly timid in certain situations.
Alexander knew better than to push her too far on something like this.
Once she had changed into the new swimsuit, Evelyn stepped into the pool.
At first, her movements were a little rusty; it had been a while since she'd last swum.
But within minutes, she was gliding smoothly through the water, swimming laps from one end of the pool to the other.
Alexander, unable to join her, watched contentedly from his spot nearby.
Seeing Evelyn move with such freedom and joy in the water brought a genuine, soft smile to his face. He shared in her happiness as if it were his own.
In that moment, everything felt perfectly peaceful.
It was just the two of them, enjoying their own private world, completely untouched by any outside interruptions.
