I Trusted The Wrong Person
Evelyn had already formulated a new plan.
She needed to confirm one vital detail before moving forward.
Picking up her phone again, she opened Julian Thorne's account and carefully examined the designs he had posted earlier.
Evelyn quickly identified numerous design elements in Julian's work that were nearly identical to her own.
She still didn't understand how Julian had managed to publish them first. However, the blatant similarities actually worked to her advantage now.
After some thought, Evelyn created a fresh Twitter account.
She promptly composed a formal statement and posted it, using relevant hashtags for visibility.
"Hello everyone, this is Evelyn. I am making an official statement today. The gown I designed for Cassandra was entirely my original creation. There was absolutely no plagiarism involved. Every single detail of this dress was born from my own imagination and effort."
Her post immediately drew public attention.
Many were surprised to see Evelyn, who had been silent on her main account, suddenly emerge with a new one.
A wave of mocking comments soon followed.
"Pretty pathetic to defend yourself now, isn't it?"
"Why make a new account? Scared your popularity is tanking?"
"Stop making excuses. If you didn't plagiarize, show us the proof. Empty words mean nothing."
"Exactly. Julian posted his designs weeks before you did."
"The designs are practically copies. How can you possibly claim you didn't steal?"
Despite the torrent of criticism, Evelyn remained composed.
She pinned a reply beneath her original post. "I had gathered all the necessary evidence days ago. But unfortunately, I placed my trust in the wrong person. Someone intentionally destroyed the original design drafts that would have proven my innocence."
The backlash intensified.
"Oh please, not this tired excuse. Can't you be more creative?"
"You've become quite the storyteller."
"One sentence to dismiss all the blame? What about the people you've hurt?"
"Enough. Apologize to Cassandra and Julian. Now!"
"I'm sick of your games. You're completely insincere."
"If you really had proof, you would have shown it immediately. Why the delay?"
"And now you claim someone deleted your evidence? Who would go to such lengths just to frame you?"
The comments section overflowed with scorn and ridicule.
Yet, Evelyn did not falter.
"I may no longer have the original drafts, but that doesn't mean I am without evidence. Despite what has happened, I maintain my position. This design is uniquely and wholly mine."
Her unwavering stance made some question her sanity.
"Has Evelyn completely lost her mind after all this hate? What is she even trying to say?"
"No original drafts, no proof. Is there anything left to discuss?"
"I was starting to feel sorry for you, but now? You've just disappointed everyone."
"A plagiarist with a fanbase? How did it come to this?"
Amid the raging online firestorm, Evelyn prepared to reveal a shocking revelation...
