Everything's Recorded.
"You!" Cassandra's face burned a furious scarlet.
Genevieve, already tense, couldn't conceal her shock.
Neither had anticipated Julian Thorne would sink to such depths, especially given his usual obedient and honest demeanor.
What had possessed him?
But both Cassandra and Genevieve were resolute—this could not become public.
Cassandra felt the greater threat. If it were discovered she was the mastermind, her meticulously crafted image as the sweet, innocent celebrity would be obliterated.
Her name would forever be associated with framing a designer for plagiarism.
Her career in the entertainment industry would be over.
It was all Genevieve and Julian's fault—they were both fools!
Cassandra gritted her teeth. "Fine. I'll pay. But you must swear to never speak of this again."
Genevieve, seeing no alternative, gave a reluctant nod.
To their astonishment, a flicker of disbelief crossed Julian's face.
They had actually agreed! He had been bluffing.
He had truly hit a nerve.
Greed then consumed him. A smug smirk twisted his lips as he raised his demand. "Fifty million was the initial figure. Now it's changed. Each of you will pay me fifty million."
Cassandra and Genevieve boiled with rage.
Cassandra's eyes widened, her voice shaking. "Julian! Have you lost your mind? Fifty million each? You have some audacity!"
Genevieve's anger was palpable. "Julian, we've known each other for years! How can you do this? You can't claim innocence in this mess. You're a veteran designer, yet you missed the signature on Evelyn's drafts! You're just as culpable!"
Julian didn't flinch. "Enough. I went out of my way to help you ruin Evelyn. A hundred million total is a bargain."
Cassandra's disgust intensified. Her voice turned icy. "Don't push it. Crossing me will have consequences. We'll give you fifty million total—that's more than fair. Be smart. Sign the contract and leave the country. Quickly."
Genevieve didn't hold back either. "After all we've done, I'm asking for little. Cassandra is being generous. Fifty million is enough for a comfortable life. Know when to stop."
Despite their words, Julian remained unmoved.
He knew he controlled the situation. They were at his mercy.
In that moment, he saw them for what they were—just as hypocritical as he was. If he kept pressing, they would break, desperate to protect their reputations and pay.
A arrogant grin spread across his face. "Let me be clear. I've been recording everything since I walked in. If you don't want this exposed, pay up. Fast. Don't say I didn't warn you."
Cassandra stared in shock. "What did you say?"
Julian basked in her panic. With a triumphant smirk, he produced the hidden recorder, holding it up like a prize. "It's all here. On tape. Your move."
