Sebastian left after dinner.
The night was vast and dark outside, dotted with countless twinkling stars.
Alexander emerged from the bathroom, a towel in his hand. He expected to find Evelyn in the bedroom, but she was nowhere to be seen.
Where had she gone?
"Evelyn..." he called out, running the towel through his damp hair as his eyes scanned the room.
Just as he was about to leave and search for her, her cheerful voice rang out from the walk-in closet behind him. "I'm in here!"
Alexander turned and saw her standing inside the closet. A measuring tape was draped over her hands.
"Darling, come here, quick!" she said, her eyes shining with a brilliant light.
Her radiant smile was infectious. Alexander felt a smile tug at his own lips.
He walked towards her, completely captivated by the excitement sparkling in her gaze.
"You seem exceptionally happy tonight," he noted, pausing for a moment. "Is it because of Grandmother's thoughtful gift?"
Evelyn blinked, then nodded enthusiastically. "That's certainly one reason! Speaking of which, I still don't have Eleanor's contact information. Perhaps you could take me to Crestwood Manor sometime soon. I'd like to thank her in person."
"Of course," Alexander agreed without a second thought.
Such a simple request was never a question for him.
He studied her for a moment, a curious glint in his eyes. "You said Grandmother's gift was one reason. What's the other?"
Evelyn had been waiting for him to ask. Her eyes sparkled even brighter. A wide, eager grin spread across her face as she held up the measuring tape. "Alexander, I want to design a suit for you!"
The flicker of genuine surprise that crossed his features was exactly the reaction she had hoped for.
"Well? Bet you didn't see that coming!" She let out a light chuckle, playfully swinging the measuring tape.
"Design a suit for me?" Alexander arched an eyebrow, then nodded slowly. "You're correct. I didn't expect that. What inspired this sudden decision?"
He was well aware of Evelyn's exceptional talent in design. But at this moment, the quality of the suit was secondary. The most important thing was that she was the one who wanted to create it for him.
A profound warmth spread through his chest at the thought.
"I've been thinking about it for a while," Evelyn explained, her voice filled with conviction. "Especially with the Sterling family banquet approaching. When you walk into that room, everyone will see a man of remarkable presence. I want to be part of that."
As she spoke, a proud smile graced her lips, and her voice brimmed with confidence. "Combining my design skills with your impeccable physique and handsome features, plus a suit crafted specifically for you by me... you will undoubtedly be the most dazzling star at the entire banquet."
Alexander watched her, utterly charmed by her palpable excitement. A low, fond chuckle escaped him, completely disarmed by her sweet yet fiercely determined enthusiasm.
