Chapter 441: Chapter 441

Evelyn was startled by Alexander's uncharacteristically tender words.

A deep blush instantly spread across her cheeks.

"Why are you being so sweet all of a sudden?" she managed to whisper after a long pause.

Alexander chuckled softly, clearly enjoying her flustered reaction as he carried her towards the clinic.

He spoke in a calm, deliberate tone. "Darling, I know you believe tonight's Sterling family banquet is a crucial opportunity for me to network with influential figures."

He paused, adjusting his grip on her. "But your safety and well-being are my primary concern. I need to be certain you're alright before I can even think about socializing."

His gaze was intense. "If I were to leave you now, my mind would be entirely preoccupied with worry. I wouldn't be able to focus on anything else."

Evelyn's heart fluttered at his sincere declaration.

Alexander always knew exactly what to say to ease her anxieties.

Yet she could feel the genuine concern behind his words.

A bittersweet smile touched her lips.

She gently brushed the lapel of his impeccably tailored suit. "I had this suit specially made for you to wear to the banquet tonight. It looks so distinguished. It's a shame it won't be seen."

Alexander gave her a charming smile. "The only opinion about this suit that matters to me is yours. Seeing the appreciation in your eyes makes the effort you put into it completely worthwhile."

Evelyn playfully tapped his lips. "You're a serious businessman. How can you afford to be so focused on romance?"

Alexander raised an eyebrow, considering her question with mock seriousness. "This suit is too finely crafted for just one occasion. Since I missed wearing it tonight, I'll simply save it for another important event."

Evelyn's eyes sparkled with amusement. "What if someone notices you've worn it before?"

Their conversation had taken a strangely serious turn over such a trivial matter.

With utter sincerity, Alexander explained, "In Crestwood, I'm hardly the center of the social scene. I could wear this same suit a dozen times and no one would likely notice."

Evelyn shook her head in disagreement. "That's not true at all! You command attention wherever you go. The moment you enter a room, all eyes are drawn to you."

Now that Alexander was no longer using a wheelchair, his striking presence was undeniable.

Evelyn's observation was entirely accurate.

His brief appearance at the Sterling estate earlier had indeed left a lasting impression on the guests.

Unbeknownst to them, many attendees were still speculating about the identity of the enigmatic man who had arrived with Jonathan Sterling.

After a moment's thought, Alexander grinned. "In that case, it seems I'll need my talented designer, Evelyn, to create many more exceptional suits for me in the future."

Without hesitation, Evelyn replied, "Of course! Designing for you is one of my greatest pleasures."

As they finished speaking, Alexander carried Evelyn into the clinic.

"Doctor," he said immediately upon entering, his voice firm with concern. "Could you please examine my wife's ankle? She took a bad fall earlier."
