Chapter 85: Chapter 85

"Now, you've gathered all the keys."

Ella was clutching the two USB drives tightly in her hand.

She finally understood why Derek had appeared in Solaris.

It wasn't merely a prediction-more likely, he was a member of that faction from years ago, or perhaps their descendant.

He had been waiting patiently, like a hunter at a burrow, for her to arrive with both keys so she could unwittingly open the vault door for him.

"Ella, what's the situation back home?" Robert asked, his face etched with concern.

Ella briefly explained the litigation and public relations crisis unfolding in Arcadia.

"Shameless thieves!" Robert's face flushed red with anger, his eyes wvide with indignation. "Janice should never have shown mercy to that family!"

He turned to a supercomputer nearby, his fingers flying across the keyboard with practiced precision.

"Since they want to play legal games, I'll play to the end!"

On the screen, lines of code cascaded like a waterfall.

"I'm going to hold an immediate global online press conference as the founder of Vanguard Technologies," Robert declared, his eyes gleaming with the characteristic madness and confidence of a technical genius."I will prove to the world that you are Janice's only legitimate heir! And I'm

going to reveal something else."

He pulled up an encrypted folder.

"This is an original backup of a stock transfer agreement your mother signed when she left the Brooks family."

"The agreement states that she voluntarily relinquished her 30% founding shares in the Brooks Group, with one condition-that the Brooks family must ensure you live a peaceful and happy life, free from any mistreatment. Now, they've broken that contract."

"According to the supplementary clause on the reverse side, oncethe condition is violated, this gift becomes immediately void. Furthermore, the Brooks family must pay the legitimate heir all profits generated by these shares over the past thirty years, plus a hundred-fold penalty for breach of contract."

"John wants to settle accounts with you?" Robert's lips curved into a cold smile. "Then let's give him a thorough accounting!"

"T'll make him and his precious Brooks Group fall into a hundred-billion-dollar debt overnight!"

Thousands of miles away in Arcadia, John had just finished a meeting with his legal team, a confident smirk playing on his lips.

His strategy was simple: drag Ella through endless litigation until she was exhausted.

The powerful figures behind him would naturally deliver everything he wanted.

Judith sat nearby, her face streaked with tears that seemed pitiful, but her

eyes revealed malicious calculation.

She wanted to watch Ella-the woman who had taken everything from her-be shamed by her own father.

Just then, the Brooks Group's PR director burst into the room, his face ashen.

"Mr. Brooks, terrible news! Across the ocean, the founder of Vanguard Technologies, Robert, has called a global livesream! He says he's going to reveal an agreement about Janice from thirty years ago!"

The smugness on John's face instantly froze. He almost thought he had misheard.

"Who did you say?"

"Robert, Vanguard Technologies' founder, the technical genius who became famous over twenty years ago." The PR director's voice trembled as he handed over a tablet. "It's a simultaneous global broadcast. All top financial media are sreaming it. He says he wants to set the record straight for an old friend."

On screen, silver-haired Robert sat before a blackboard covered in equations, his gaze clear and determined. Behind him was the Vanguard Technologies logo.

John's heart sank heavily.

"He can't say much. Just some old stories." Judith tried to reassure him, feigning calm, but her tightly clenched fingers betrayed her inner panic."Dad, he's just bluffing to help Ella salvage her reputation."

Before she could finish, Robert began speaking on the livestream.

"My name is Robert Adler. To many, I'm a moderately successful engineer.but in my heart, I've always been a light-chaser. And the light I chased was named Janice; in another, broáder word, her code name was Prometheus."

Prometheus.

When this name left Robert's lips, John's body violently shuddered.collapsing into his chair as if all strength had been drained from him.

The broadcast continued. Robert didn't mention any of the Brooks family's sordid affairs; he simply used plain language to tell the world about the brilliant but brief era that belonged to Prometheus.

From her groundbreaking appearance at the Thornfield Industrial Expo to the revolutionary concept of the Sprout Initiative, she single-handedly advanced Lumeria's entire industrial process.

The global financial and tech communities erupted.

[So the technology-sharing agreement with MicroMachining Solutions wasn't for commercial benefit but for legacy.]

[Diamond Tech's founder is Janice's daughter? This is the tech story of the century!]

[No wonder her algorithms are so advanced-it's talent written in her genes!]

The tide of public opinion instantly turned. The previous accusations against Ella now seemed absurdly ridiculous,self-defeating slander.

"Now. I'd like everyone to see a document," Robert's voice turned serious as he held up a yellowed document encased in a transparent protective

sleeve for the high-definition camera.

"This is a stock transfer agreement from thirty years ago. The grantor is Janice, and the recipient is her husband.John."

John felt the world spin around him.

That agreement-he had thought it destroyed long ago-was the shackle he had used to bind Janice with family obligation.

He never imagined it would become the timed manacleJanice had placed on him.

"The agreement is simple," Robert's voice was ice-cold, devoid of emotion."Janice voluntarily relinquished her 30% founding shares in the Brooks Group, requiring no monetary compensation. Her only condition was that the Brooks family must guarantee her daughter, Ella, would live securely and happily, free from external bullying or worldly troubles."

"A mother trading her stake in a company she helped build to secure her daughter's peaceful future-this should have been a heartwarming story."

Robert's tone suddenly turned razor-sharp.

"However, just days ago, the recipient of this agreement-John-personally held a press conference, using the most vicious words to slander his own daughter as a thief and mentally ill."

"He tore up this contract with his own hands, and in doing so, he also tolled the death knell for the Brooks Group."

Behind Robert, a massive screen lit up, displaying several top global financial lawyers and accountants.
