Chapter 304: Chapter 304

The black SUV sped through the rain-slicked streets of Jazmah.

It came to an abrupt halt before the gleaming skyscraper of Blackwood Enterprises.

Isabella stepped out, her expression resolute.

She marched through the lavish lobby, her heels clicking sharply on the marble floor.

"I need to see Ethan Blackwood," she stated firmly to the receptionist.

"Do you have an appointment, ma'am?" the woman asked politely.

"No, I don't," Isabella replied.

"I'm afraid Mr. Blackwood isn't in the office at the moment."

Not in the office?

Disappointment washed over her. Then another location came to mind.

If Ethan wasn't at his office, he was likely at that particular place.

Without hesitation, Isabella turned and exited the building.

The SUV raced through the nighttime streets as rain continued to pour.

Her phone buzzed, displaying "Lucas" on the screen.

With a trembling hand, she answered. "Hello, Lucas..."

"Isabella? You sound upset. What's wrong?" His voice was kind but carried undeniable weariness.

"Lucas, are you all right?" Her voice shook slightly. "I heard about Ethan targeting Grant Group..."

"It's just a temporary setback, Isabella. I have it under control," he interrupted, his tone artificially light. "What's going on? Why did you call?"

"Lucas..." She struggled to hold back tears. "I'm so sorry. I've dragged you and your family into this mess..."

"Don't say that," he responded gently. "This isn't your fault. Business can be ruthless sometimes. Don't worry too much. I'll handle everything."

"Lucas, I promise I'll find a solution. I won't let you or the Grant family suffer because of me."

Three years ago, Lucas had saved her from that terrible car accident.

Now, as the Grant family faced destruction from Ethan's actions, she couldn't stand by and watch.

After ending the call, Isabella closed her eyes briefly.

Hawthorne Residence had once felt like a gilded cage. Now, she was forced to return.

The SUV pulled up to the estate's imposing gates. Isabella stepped out into the rain.

At the entrance, Benjamin waited with a black umbrella, giving her a subtle nod.

"Good evening, Mrs. Blackwood. Mr. Blackwood is expecting you," he said calmly, as if everything was proceeding exactly as planned.

Isabella gave him a cold look and walked past without a word.

Internally, she wondered what game Ethan was playing.

Was this some kind of trap?

What exactly did he have planned for her?
