Chapter 343: Chapter 343

Julian’s face went pale.

He never expected Isabella to actually call the police.

Panic seized him.

He jumped up, trying to stop the butler.

“Wait—please, don’t call them! It was an accident!”

Isabella let out a sharp, mocking laugh.

“An accident? Do you think I’m a fool? I’m not letting this go.”

Julian was too slow.

He watched helplessly as the butler made the call, clearly describing the incident and their location.

Julian’s expression darkened.

He glared at Isabella, teeth bared.

“You’ll regret this.”

He quickly pulled out his phone and dialed Sophia.

As soon as she answered, he twisted the story.

He didn’t mention breaking the jewelry.

Instead, he made it sound like Isabella was the aggressor.

“Miss Reed, you need to come to Silverwood Estate now! Isabella’s gone crazy! She’s causing a scene and smashed the jewelry box I brought. Now she’s trying to have me arrested! You have to fix this!”

On the other end, Sophia’s anger flared.

“What? I’m on my way!”

She hung up and rushed toward the estate.

Images of Isabella’s cool, detached expression filled her mind, sparking jealousy.

She wouldn’t let Isabella act so superior and get away with it.

Tension hung thick at the entrance of Silverwood Estate.

Isabella and Victoria stood calmly to one side, completely composed.

In contrast, Julian was a mess of nerves, pacing and constantly looking toward the gate for Sophia.

The police arrived quickly and began assessing the situation.

They started by questioning everyone present.

The butler was the first to speak.

He gave a detailed account of what he saw.

“I heard the commotion and came immediately. Mr. Foster and Miss Scott were arguing. Shattered jewelry boxes and loose diamonds were scattered around them. Mr. Foster accused Miss Scott of breaking his box. Miss Scott claimed he intentionally bumped her employee, causing the drop.”

The police turned to Julian.

“Mr. Foster, what’s your response?”

Julian shifted nervously, trying to appear calm.

“She’s the one who smashed my box! I never touched her!”

Just then, Sophia arrived, her voice sharp with anger.

“What’s going on here? Who’s harassing my assistant?!”

Julian hurried over to her, relief washing over his face.

“Thank goodness you’re here, Miss Reed!”

Sophia fixed her intense glare on Isabella, her tone cutting.

“Isabella, this is outrageous! How dare you do something like this?!”

Isabella responded with a cold, smooth smile.

“Miss Reed, perhaps you should get your facts straight first. Your assistant intentionally bumped into my employee, causing her to drop our jewelry box. We are the victims here.”

“That’s ridiculous!” Sophia exclaimed, pointing an accusing finger, her features twisted in fury. “You’re just trying to cause trouble! Julian would never do something like that!”

Isabella’s expression turned icy, her words firm.

“The police will handle the investigation. But I’m curious, Miss Reed—why are you so quick to defend your assistant? Is there something between you two?”
