"Oh, by the way," Nathan added with a smirk, "they're meeting up tomorrow for a date!"
Victoria's face darkened instantly. "A date? Where?"
"Not sure," Nathan shrugged, "but I think I overheard Amy mention something about ten in the morning. Victoria, you can't just let her win!"
A sharp glint of determination flashed in Victoria's eyes. "Don't worry. I won't."
When Samantha Reynolds heard about Alexander's accident and hospitalization, she rushed to the hospital in a panic. Seeing that he was fine, she finally exhaled in relief.
Then, remembering something, she turned to Amy. "Oh, Celeste, didn’t you and Benjamin agree to perform at the charity gala at the end of the month? He’s free tomorrow and suggested rehearsing at your newly renovated studio."
"Tomorrow..." Amy hesitated, not answering right away.
Samantha raised a brow. "What’s wrong? Busy tomorrow?"
With Oliver at daycare, Amy usually had little else occupying her time.
After a brief pause, Amy decided to be honest. "I’m going to the courthouse with Alexander to finalize the divorce."
Samantha’s eyes widened. "You’re really divorcing Alexander?!"
The conversation immediately drew the attention of Sebastian and his son, both turning to stare at her.
Amy nodded. "Yes."
"And Alexander agreed?"
A faint, bitter smile touched Amy’s lips. "I’m walking away with nothing. Why wouldn’t he?"
Samantha scoffed. "I remember when you first brought it up. He never took you seriously—thought you were just playing games. Honestly, I figured he was making excuses because he didn’t want it. But now? Seems like he’s just making sure you leave with nothing."
Amy remained indifferent. "If we go through the courts and he drags it out, it could take years. But if he cooperates, it’ll be over in a month. As long as it happens, I don’t care about the money."
Samantha nodded. "Better to get it done fast. If you wait, who knows? Especially with Victoria supposedly only having months left. Once she’s gone, he might come crawling back."
"Months left?" Amy arched a brow. "You really believe she’s dying?"
Samantha considered it. "Does she act like someone on death’s door? Who has the energy to scheme and chase a married man if they’re terminally ill? My bet? She’s faking it."
Sebastian suddenly spoke up. "What exactly is she supposed to be sick with?"
Amy shook her head. "No idea. Alexander never told me."
She’d long suspected Victoria wasn’t as ill as she claimed. But without proof, Amy kept her doubts to herself. Every time she asked Alexander about it, he dodged the question, saying it wasn’t her concern.
Eventually, she stopped asking. Still, she was curious—would Victoria actually drop dead when her supposed time came?
Oliver looked up at her with bright eyes. "Amy, are you really divorcing Mr. Blackwood?"
Amy met his eager gaze and smiled slightly. "Do you want me to divorce him?"
