Amy Sinclair summoned Samantha Reynolds for assistance.
When Samantha discovered Amy was preparing a "miracle cure" for Victoria Langley, her curiosity was instantly ignited.
With a mischievous smirk, she boiled the herbal mixture in her own bathwater, adding a few strategic spits for extra potency.
Oliver Kingsley, not one to be left out, discreetly procured some rodent droppings and blended them into the concoction.
Amy, her lips curling in amusement, tossed in a handful of crushed cockroaches before grinding everything into a fine powder, shaping them into neat little pills.
The herbs themselves were harmless—nothing that could heal or harm.
Then, abruptly, Amy changed the subject. "Though, Mr. Whitmore has already prepared the first round of medication. Ms. Langley can start taking it immediately."
She glanced between Alexander Blackwood and Nathan Prescott. "I'm heading to the clinic later. Would you two like to join me?"
Nathan, eager to share the news of Amy and Alexander's impending divorce with Victoria, agreed without hesitation.
Alexander paused briefly before giving a slight nod.
At the clinic, Victoria distractedly sorted through medicinal herbs, her gaze flickering toward the entrance every few seconds, a mix of nervousness and anticipation tightening her chest.
Neither Amy nor Oliver had appeared today.
Oliver was at school, while Amy and Alexander were finalizing their divorce paperwork at city hall.
Nathan had promised to check on the proceedings, but so far, he hadn’t sent any updates. Victoria couldn’t help but wonder—were they really going through with it?
Just as her patience was wearing thin, three familiar figures stepped into the clinic.
Her face brightened as she dropped the herbs and rushed forward.
"Alex, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be at work?" she asked, her attention entirely fixed on Alexander, momentarily forgetting Amy and Nathan.
Amy, long accustomed to this, didn’t react. Nathan, however, frowned slightly.
"Victoria, I just got discharged, and you didn’t even ask how I was doing," he said, his tone edged with irritation. "Is Alex the only one you care about?"
Victoria blinked, as if just noticing him.
"Of course not! I just wanted to greet Alex first," she replied smoothly, her charm effortlessly slipping into place.
"Nathan, you’ve been so wonderful to me. If I hadn’t been so busy, I would’ve come to the hospital to take care of you myself."
Nathan’s annoyance melted into a sheepish grin.
"Really?"
Victoria nodded earnestly. "When have I ever lied to you?"
She hesitated, her gaze flickering briefly toward Amy.
"Did you just run into Alex and Nathan at the door, Ms. Sinclair? What a coincidence."
Amy smiled faintly. "Not exactly. We came back together from city hall."
Victoria feigned confusion. "City hall? What were you doing there?"
Amy arched a brow. "Oh, didn’t Alexander and Nathan tell you? Mr. Blackwood would do anything to cure you. Even divorce, if it meant saving your life. He wouldn’t hesitate to risk everything for you."
"Enough," Alexander cut in, his expression darkening. "Aren’t you supposed to be giving Victoria her medication?"
Amy chuckled, letting the matter drop.
"I’ll get the medicine for Ms. Langley now."
A few minutes later, she returned with a small bottle of pills and a bottle of spring water.
She handed the water to Victoria and shook out a single pill.
"This is the first round of treatment, Ms. Langley. Take it now—we wouldn’t want to delay your recovery."
