Chapter 297: Chapter 298

Alexander and Nathan were completely engrossed, but Dominic alone maintained that faint, gentle smile, his gaze serene and unreadable.

Later, Nathan—grinning with pride—turned to Dominic. "So, Dominic, what did you think of Victoria's violin performance?"

Dominic's smile remained warm. "It was lovely."

Having known each other since childhood, Nathan could detect the subtle nuance in Dominic's tone.

"Oh, come on, you don't seem that moved. Didn't she dazzle you?"

Dominic's smile turned slightly wistful. "Perhaps it's because... I've witnessed something far more breathtaking."

"Something more breathtaking? What do you mean?"

Nathan, ever the inquisitive one, leaned in. "Dominic, countless women in our circle have tried to capture your attention, yet you've never shown interest in any of them. Be honest—have you already fallen for someone?"

Dominic didn't hesitate. He answered plainly.

"I have."

"Who is she?" Nathan's eyes sparkled as if he'd uncovered a hidden treasure. "You must introduce her to us! For a woman to catch Mr. Whitmore's eye, she must be extraordinary."

Like Alexander, Dominic had been raised under strict, elite expectations. But Dominic's upbringing had been gentler, and it reflected in his demeanor—softer, more approachable.

Alexander, however, was reserved—almost distant—never one to charm or be charmed easily.

Dominic smiled. "She is. More extraordinary than anyone I've ever known."

Even Alexander, who typically had no patience for idle chatter, seemed intrigued.

"Which family does she belong to?" he asked.

Dominic shook his head. "She isn't from a prominent family. She's just... an ordinary woman."

"If you love her, pursue her," Alexander said with a shrug. "Lineage isn't everything."

After all, he himself admired Victoria, who came from humble beginnings. Alexander had always believed status was overrated.

Dominic sighed. "It's too late. She's married now—with a child."

"What?" Nathan gaped at him, stunned. "You're in love with a married woman? Dominic, I never took you for the type!"

Alexander turned to Dominic, his gaze darkening.

"A boy or a girl?"

Dominic met his eyes steadily. "A boy. He's five this year."

Nathan, oblivious to the sudden tension, chuckled as usual.

"What a coincidence! Alexander's son is five too. Wait—Dominic, don't tell me you've fallen for Amy! Hah!"

But the moment the words left his mouth, he noticed the way Alexander was staring at Dominic, the air between them turning icy.

Nathan's pulse quickened.

Could it actually be true?

No... that couldn't be possible... right?

Dominic suddenly laughed. "Nathan, regardless of anything, Ms. Sinclair is Alexander's wife. Joking about such things is disrespectful to her."

"The woman I fell for—I met her eight years ago, in Solmaris. She was still in university then, unmarried."

Nathan exhaled in relief.

For a moment, he'd genuinely thought Dominic meant Amy.

Alexander relaxed slightly, glancing away. Amy had never attended university. She likely hadn't even left the country.

Nathan perked up again. "So, does she play the violin too?"

Dominic nodded. "She does. Not just the violin—she's skilled in multiple instruments, though the violin is her forte. She paints, she dances—she was the star of her campus. And her voice... it's mesmerizing."
