Chapter 58: Chapter 59

The moment he entered the room, the atmosphere shifted. Alexander Blackwood moved with the effortless grace of a silver-screen legend, his presence commanding every inch of the space.

His sharp, aristocratic features were perfectly composed, his dark eyes unreadable. A magnetic aura clung to him, leaving the room in breathless silence.

At the sight of him, Amy Sinclair's fingers curled into fists, her gaze hardening like tempered steel.

The journalists surged forward like a tide, microphones thrust toward Alexander.

"Mr. Blackwood, are you here to ensure justice is served for the victim?" one reporter demanded.

"Your silence regarding the allegations against your wife—does that mean you believe she's guilty?" another pressed.

"Are you planning to divorce Amy Sinclair?" a bold voice called from the back.

Camera flashes exploded around him, but Alexander remained unmoved, his expression as cold as winter frost.

"Step aside," he ordered, his voice low but razor-edged.

The sheer authority in his tone made the crowd instinctively part.

Alexander turned to Gregory, his assistant. "Clear the room. The press conference is canceled."

A ripple of shock spread through the gathered press. Murmurs rose like a storm.

Ignoring them, Alexander strode toward the stage where Amy stood.

A bitter laugh escaped her lips, sharp enough to slice through the noise.

Her voice rang out, clear and unwavering. "Canceling the press conference, Alexander? Afraid I might expose the truth about Victoria Langley?"

The room erupted in whispers.

"What truth?"

"Is there more to this scandal?"

"If Amy's holding a press conference, she must have evidence."

Alexander reached the stage, his piercing gaze locked onto her. He caught her wrist gently, his voice dropping to a murmur. "Let's discuss this at home."

Amy yanked her hand free, her eyes blazing.

"Why? So you can silence me again? So I can keep playing the villain while Victoria remains untouchable?"

His jaw tightened. "I'll handle this, Amy. Just come home."

She let out a hollow laugh. "Since when do you care about handling anything fairly, Alexander?"

He had been absent when the world tore her apart online—likely at the hospital, comforting Victoria, whispering promises to fix everything while painting Amy as the monster.

Alexander's patience snapped. "How long are you going to keep this up?"

"Keep this up?" Her voice was ice. "In your eyes, anything less than protecting Victoria is a crime, isn't it?"

Realizing his misstep, he exhaled sharply. "I'll clear your name. But not like this. Not in front of the world."

Amy studied him for a long moment before nodding curtly. "Fine. We'll talk."

A flicker of relief crossed his usually impassive face.

Without another word, she turned and walked toward the backstage exit, Alexander following close behind.
