Chapter 197: Chapter 197

The street photographer transferred the photo to William via Bluetooth. William stared at his phone screen after receiving it, completely captivated.

How perfect was this picture that he couldn't look away?

Elise hadn't been interested initially, but curiosity was getting the better of her.

Finally, she couldn't resist asking, "Let me see."

William turned his attention from his phone and handed it to her.

She looked at the screen to see William taking a bite of her ice cream sundae. His profile was flawless, every feature perfectly sculpted.

What surprised her was that she was captured staring at William's face. She had thought she was just watching her sundae, worried he might finish it all.

But the undeniable truth was in her eyes. They held a soft, sentimental gaze as she looked at William.

She suddenly realized this would be difficult to explain.

"Finished looking?" William asked.

"Yes," Elise replied, trying to sound casual as she returned his phone.

He chuckled softly. "Let's go."

"Where?" she asked.

"Bungee jumping."

Elise was speechless. Couldn't they just have a relaxing day for once?

This was their sixth and final day on Ayro Island. They would be returning to Crestwood early tomorrow morning.

Elise had been reluctant to come here initially. Now she found herself equally reluctant to leave.

It had been years since she felt such genuine affection for a place.

Whether it was her homes in Zidonia or rented apartments abroad, those were merely places to stay.

But Ayro Island held truly beautiful memories for her. This place genuinely allowed her to forget her troubles.

However, William seemed to have vanished today.

On previous days, he would always burst into her room before she woke up, scoop her into his arms, and carry her out of the villa.

So where had he gone today?

Eventually, she gave in and called him.

He answered, saying he had to handle some business matters. He promised to return before dinner.

So she was being ignored for work.

And yet...

Fine, work was important!

Besides, she enjoyed having some downtime. At least she didn't have to worry about William dragging her off to some potentially dangerous activity.

She lounged around the villa, alternating between eating and sleeping. She even went for a swim in the private pool.

But William still hadn't returned as darkness fell. She wondered if he had forgotten about her and was having dinner with business partners instead.

She hesitated for a moment but ultimately didn't call him. She didn't want to disturb him during important meetings. Instead, she stayed in the living room, watching television and occasionally checking her phone, killing time while waiting for him.

He called at nine o'clock. Elise's first thought was that he would say he wasn't coming back for dinner.

But though she braced herself for disappointment, his familiar voice said, "Come to the window, Ms. Scott."

Elise frowned as she walked to the window with her phone.

As soon as she reached it, endless fireworks shot into the sky. They burst in brilliant colors, illuminating the night.

Any woman would be swept off her feet by such a romantic sight, and Elise was no exception.

She stared outside at the dazzling display painting the sky. It definitely struck a chord deep within her heart.

"Would you please come outside, Ms. Scott?" William's voice came through the phone again.

Elise did as he asked. When she stepped outside, she found the beach had been exquisitely decorated. Flashing colored lights were everywhere, shining brightly against the night sky.

The villa they stayed in was connected to land by a long wooden bridge. As she walked toward it, lights on both sides illuminated her path, creating a grand atmosphere.

Elise eventually stopped at the beach and stared at the dining table before her.

It was adorned with candles and roses. Glasses of red wine and expensive steaks were already prepared.

Beneath it, more colored lights were arranged in the shape of a perfect heart.
