Despite her typically arrogant demeanor, Amanda transformed into a gentle, affectionate presence around Ethan.

Once the treats were finished, the crew quickly resumed their positions to continue filming.

Amanda feigned surprise when she noticed Elizabeth. "Elizabeth! When did you arrive? I'm so sorry, I didn't see you earlier. I brought some food—would you like some?"

Though her words sounded friendly, she sighed with exaggerated regret before Elizabeth could respond. "Oh, what a shame—we just finished everything. I'll definitely bring extra for you next time."

Elizabeth merely offered a cold smirk and walked right past Amanda without another word.

Ethan was already seated behind the monitors, preparing to direct the bedroom scene. Elizabeth positioned herself directly beside him.

Ethan glanced at her briefly but remained silent, focusing on the upcoming shot.

Through the monitor, Elizabeth watched her body double. Only the woman's back was visible on screen—slender, with fair, flawless skin. While it wasn't divine perfection, and Elizabeth would never claim such for herself, she had seen Elise's bare back before, which far surpassed this double's.

As Elizabeth continued watching the screen with sardonic amusement, she thought to herself that Ethan certainly had peculiar tastes.

The filming of the bedroom scene took considerable time. Finally, it was time for Elizabeth's close-ups.

When she entered the set and came face-to-face with her double, Elizabeth couldn't hide her astonishment.

The double smiled politely at her. "Good afternoon, Ms. York."

"Enough with the theatrics! Tell me the truth! Did you snap at your grandfather last night?!" The voice on the other end was stern and unyielding.

"Oh, please don't tell me you're scolding me about that?" Elizabeth adopted a wounded tone. "He was bullying a young woman! I was merely standing up for justice!"

"Standing up for justice?! Do you even know who makes the decisions in this family?!" Nancy Levine snapped. "Or perhaps you're tired of acting and ready to come help with the family business?!"

"Stop it, Mother. Grandpa already threatened me with that."

"So you do know how to feel fear?" Nancy grumbled.

Nancy had always spoiled Elizabeth, her only daughter, doing everything possible to fulfill Elizabeth's desires.

Indeed, Nancy's support had been crucial to Elizabeth's successful acting career.

Naturally, Elizabeth quickly softened her tone. "Please, just put in a good word for me. I love acting, and I'm not ready to come home yet..."
