Sarah's words drew nods of agreement from some people, who chimed in,"Yeah, I don't think it's reliable either. We're doctors, we need to build up clinical experience over time. If something goes wrong in the future,it would harm the patients and the hospital's reputation."
"Mr. Taylor, you're the expert! You know better than us how important a surgeon's touch and experience are."
Harold's face grew even darker upon hearing this.
"Who said I don't have experience?" Wendy suddenly spoke up.
She lifted her gaze, looking at them calmly, and said slowly, "I haven't worked in a hospital these past few years, but I've been a social worker doctor at welfare centers and nursing homes."
"A social worker doctor?" Sarah sneered. "You spend all your time at home doing launddry and cooking. When do you have time to be a social worker doctor?"
Wendy didn't get angry. She just glanced at Sarah indifferently.
Her gaze was cold and sharp, as if she could see right through people.
"I don't need to lie to you." Wendy took out her phone and opened her electronic social worker certificate, showing the hours she had worked.
She handed the certificateto Harold first, then to Sarah.
Sarah froze when she saw the certificate.
How could it be? Wendy was really a social worker doctor! And she had
logged nearly two thousand hours.
That meant over the past three years, she had spent an average of two hours a day doing social work.
"No, that's impossible!" Sarah shook her head repeatedly. "This can't be true. You're at home every day, my mom supervises yeu. When would you have time to go out? You must have bought a fake certificate."
Wendy let out a cold laugh. "You can check with your mom if she watches me 24/7."
Sarah knew Juniper went out to play cards in the afternoons, so she was momentarily speechless. "You!"
Wendy looked at her coldly and continued, "If you still don't believe me.you can check the video records at the social work organization."
Harold glared at Sarah and scolded, "What else do you have to say?"
Sarah's face turned pale. She couldn't let this go. If she was found guilty of slander, she would have no place at Blue Ridge Medical Center.
She gritted her teeth and said, "Even if you were a social worker doctor, a part-time doctor isn't qualified to join Blue Ridge Medical Center. If something goes wrong, who will take responsibility?"
"I'll vouch for her. Isn't that enough?" Harold said without hesitation.
Harold's support made Sarah extremely jealous.
She asked unwillingly, "Mr. Taylor, you're almost seventy.Who knows how much longer you'll be the director? Even if you vouch for her,how long can you do it? When you retire, who will take responsibility?"
Others chimed in, echoing Sarah's doubts.
"Although it sounds harsh, it's the truth!"
"Mr. Taylor hasn't been to the hospital for a long time due to his health. If something happens to him..."
Harold's face darkened upon hearing this. Just as he was about to reprimand Sarah, a deep, clear voice came from the doorway, "Then I'll vouch for her. Is that enough?"
Everyone turned to look at the doorway and saw a tall, handsome man standing there, a smile on his lips and a confident air about him.
The atmosphere instantly became tense.
"It's Alexander!"
"Mr. Alexander Turner is here?"
"He's vouching for Wendy!"
Everyone's attention quickly shifted to Alexander, who had just walked in.
Alexander walked straight to Wendy, extended his right hand, and nodded slightly. "Dr. Knight, welcome to Blue Ridge Medical Center."
Wendy, somewhat puzzled, extended her right hand as well.
After a brief handshake, Alexander let go.
Everyone present was stunned.
What was going on? Wendy actually knew the president of the Turner Group!
Sarah was in shock. She never expected Wendy to have such connections!
Not only did Chris support her, Harold protected her, but now even Alexander, the president of the Turner Group, was backing her!
Why? This world was too unfair!
The more Sarah thought about it, the more she hated it, her fingers digging into her flesh.
Alexander ignored the resentment in Sarah's eyes and looked at her with a mocking smile. "This..."
He drew out the last word deliberately.
"My name is Sarah Collins."
Alexander raised an eyebrow. "Alright, Dr. Collins, if you think Mr. Taylor can't vouch for Dr. Knight, am I qualified?"
Wendy was slightly taken aback. She hadn't expected Alexander to stand up for her.
However, she figured he was probably doing it for Chris's sake.
Sarah's face flushed. She couldn't agree, but not agreeing meant admitting defeat. If she admitted it,she couldn't turn the situation around.
She bit her lip and reluctantly said, "Mr. Alexander Turner, you do have power and influence, but you're not part of Blue Ridge Medical Center."
As she spoke, she noticed the room had gone silent, and everyone was staring at her like she was a fool.
"This Surah is really bold!"
"Yeah, she's actually confronting Mr. Alexander Turner in front of everyone. Isn't she asking for trouble with the Turner Group?"
"Doesn't she know Mr. Alexander Turner is ruthless to those who cross him? The Collins Group is in trouble!"
People whispered among themselves, all eager to see what would happen to Sarah.
Alexander glanced at Sarah nonchalantly, his eyes cold, making Sarah shiver.
She swallowed hard and tried to stay calm. "Wh-what is it?"
Alexander's smile was cold. "So, if I were part of Blue Ridge Medical Center, I could vouch for Dr. Knight?"
He said it casually, but Sarah felt a chill down her spine.
She opened her mouth, trembling, and finally squeezed out a word, "Yes."
"Good." Alexander nodded in satisfaction. He turned to Harold. "In that case, Mr. Taylor, please inform everyone in advance."
