He turned to Francis and said, "Hey, why don't you bring out whatever you think is the best?"
Francis' face lit up with a big smile,as he eagerly grabbed the menu and hurried into the kitchen.
Soon,he brought out the Gillardeau Oysters he had recommended earlier.
Each oyster was plump and fresh.glistening with moisture, arranged on a delicate ice platter, with a faint chill emanating from them.
The Collins Villa.
Sarah stormed into the house like a lit firecracker, furious.
"Mom! This is so embarrassing! The hospital forum is full of posts about what I did at the party yesterday. My colleagues are all looking at me weird!"
Juniper jumped up from the couch, her brows furrowed tightly. "It must be that witch Wendy! She's deliberately trying to mess with our family!"
"Exactly! I confronted her after I saw the posts, but she denied everything. Then Chris stepped in and admitted he did it. She must have put him up to it to target me. She can't stand to see me happy!"
"How am I supposed to live like this? I don't even want to go to work at the hospital anymore!" Sarah's voice grew more and more aggrieved, tears streaming down her face.
Juniper, distressed for Sarah, hurriedly contacted the hospital leadership, demanding the posts be deleted.
But to their dismay, as soon as one post was deleted, another similar post quickly popped up, gaining even more attention.
Lydia, hearing the commotion downstairs, slowly descended the stairs.
As she reached the staircase, she heard Sarah's sobbing and pieced together what had happened from her fragmented cries.
Internally, Lydia scoffed. Sarah was such a fool, always running home to cry when she caused trouble.
However, she needed Sarah and Juniper's support for her upcoming wedding to Ethan, so she couldn't just stand by.
With that in mind, she adjusted her expression and asked with concern."Sarah, what's wrong?"
Seeing Lydia, Sarah's anger flared up, remembering the events at the party.
"It's all your fault! You gave me that terrible advice yesterday, and now l'm the one taking all the blame. If I hadn't listened to you, my colleagues wouldn't be laughing at me today!"
Lydia's face changed slightly, but she kept her composure, speaking softly,"Sarah, I didn't thinkit through yesterday, but I genuinely wanted to help you. Now that this has happened, I'm worried too."
Ethan walked in, his face dark with anger. "You made a mistake and instead of reflecting on it, you're blaming others. You need to think about your own actions."
"Ethan, you can't say that about Sarah! It's all Wendy's fault! The Turner family blindly supports her. She must have used some underhanded tactics to manipulate them!" Juniper quickly defended Sarah, complaining
to Ethan.
Ethan's mind flashed back to the image of Alexander and Wendy standing together at the party, a sharp pang of jealousy stabbing at his heart.
"Ethan! I heard Wendy's mentor Harold is organizing a medical student innovation competition. You mustn't sponsor it, and make sure no one else does either!" Sarah pleaded, clutching Ethan's sleeve and shaking it.
Ethan hesitated, "Our family has always supported Horizon Medical College's projects. If we..."
"Ethan! Why won't you help me? I want Wendy to be desperate enough to come begging to me. Besides, you gave her so much money after the divorce. She can sell her house to fund the sponsorship!"
Sarah fumed, gritting her teeth at the thought of Wendy taking a substantial amount in the divorce.
Lydia saw Ethan's hesitation and subtly added fuel to the fire,"Ethan, you should listen to Sarah. Wendy has been getting close to Alexander lately. He might step in to help her."
Ethan's face darkened instantly.
Juniper seized the opportunity to fan the flames. "That woman is cunning. She brought this on herself. The divorce was her own doing. You gave her so much money, she's probably laughing behind our backs."
"We'll discuss this later. I'll look into it. As for the sponsorship, I want to see how capable she is of getting Alexander to help her."
Ethan's expression was stormy, his mind replaying the scene from the Turner famly's party, his face growing even darker.
At the Riysiamn Dining
A phone ringing interrupted Wendy's coniversation.
She picked up the call, and lvy, who she hadn't heard from in a while.urgently informed her that Harold's long-planned modieal student innovation competition was being deliberately sabotaged,Several sponsors had withdrawn their support.
Harold was frantic.
Wendy was shocked to learn that the Collins family had pressured most of the influential businesses in Aurora City, explicitly forbidding them from sponsoring Harold's project at Horizon Medical College.
The college's management preotended not to notice, unwilling to offend the Collins family over a soon-to-retire doctor.
Even those who weren't afraid of the Collins family weighed the situation and decided it wasn't worth getting involved.
"I understand. I'll find a way to resolve this."
Wendy hung up,her brows furrowing.
Alexander peeled a succulent shrimp and placed it on her plate, asking with concern. "What's wrong? Who wason the phone?"
"Nothing, just a small issue." Wendy shook her head, trying to hide her worry.
She knew she already owed Alexander a lot and didn't want to drag him into more trouble.
Eddy, who was helping Chris with his meal, checked his phone and
whispered something to Chris.
Chris frowned, "I know why Wendy is upset!"
Wendy quickly interrupted, "It's really nothing. I can handle it myself."
If necessary, she would find a way to fund the sponsorship herself. She couldn't let Harold's project be hindered because of her.
Alexander's eyes darkened, his expression becoming complex,"Wendy,is there something you're not telling me?"
Chris quickly spoke up, "Alexander! Wendy's mentor Harold's medical student innovation competition is being targeted. The Collins family not only refused to sponsor it but also threatened others not to. It's definitely Sarah causing trouble!"
Suddenly, Chris' face lit up, and he slapped his forehead, "Wendy, why bother struggling to get sponsorships? Isn't there a billionaire right in front of you?"
