Chapter 75: Chapter 75

Seeing Amelia's stiff expression, Sophia jumped in to help, "Don't worry, it Il be soon. You trust your mom, right?"

Owen nodded emphatically, totally convinced.

It wasn't until Owen got tired from playing and went to the lounge to sleep that Amelia started talking to Sophia about her current predicament.

She wanted to get what she needed and then slip away smoothly, making sure Chris had no more thoughts about her. Otherwise, the consequences would be dire.

But she was starting to feel like Chris's attitude towards her was changing.Even when she triedto push him away with harsh words, he still kept coming back.

He'd never been so lenient with anyone else. In all of Pinecrest, if anyone dared to treat him like that, they'd probably be gone by the next day.

"You're in a tough spot. Playing hard to get was supposed to lure him in so you could get his sperm, but now he's more interested in you. You're stuck," Sophia sighed deeply.

Amelia stayed quiet.

Sophia went on, "You need to focus on one thing at a time. Get the sperm first, then deal with everything else later. He didn't know where you were for years, and you can go back to your old place afterward. I doubt he'll find you that easily."

"You're right," Amelia said after a pause, with a helpless smile. "Someone like him can't be handled according to the original plan. Getting hi

is already a big win. How could I cover all bases?"

'Forget it,' she thought, deciding to use some more tactics.

For several days, the news of Lucius and Chloe being inseparable spread throughout the circle.

Chris, however, didn't call again, as if waiting to see how long she could hold out.

Amelia stayed calm, working out daily to keep her body in shape and monitoring her ovulation, just waiting for the right moment to achieve her goal.

But she didn't expect an unexpected visitor that night.

"Bella, right? I've heard a lot about you." When the sales associate Wendy Brown brought the young lady over, Amelia was washing her brushes, and the mirror reflected a bright and elegant face.

She shook off the paintbrush, guessing who the visitor was.

"Ms. Wilson is also well-known," she said calmly, turning around.

At this moment, she casually tied her hair up, still wearing an apron, and her hands were not yet clean, covered in oil paint.

She indeed couldn't compare to Chloe's meticulous elegance from head to toe.

But when she smiled faintly, her face, and even her whole being, instantly became vibrant.

Her beauty was from the inside out, with a unique charm, beautiful but not vulgar, like a refreshing breeze.

Chloe frowned immediately, not daring to act rashly.

"You're Lucius's girlfriend? Oh, just a normal person. Besides painting, what else can you do? Can you help him?" she said.

Amelia was momentarily speechless.

After a moment of silence, she shook her head, "I can't help him with anything, and I am indeed ashamed of that."

Chloe raised an eyebrow and smiled, feeling smug, "But I can help him."

"So?" Amelia remained composed, "Ms. Wilson, are you here to steal my boyfriend?"

Chloe was taken aback, seemingly not expecting her to be so direct.

"What I mean is, you're not worthy of Lucius. You'd better back out voluntarily," she said coldly, "Love is about helping him achieve happiness, isn't it? He's met someone better now, someone who can help him more. You should let him go."

Amelia was about to speak when her phone suddenly beeped.

Wendy texted her, saying Chris had arrived.

Amelia calmly put down her phone, her gaze turning cold, and her demeanor becoming icy. She looked up at Chloe and said, "Are all rich girls as arrogant and ill-mannered as you?"

Her voice was low, just enough for the two of them to hear.

Chloe, who had been pampered since childhood, had never heard such sharp sarcasm. She was immediately furious, "I'm ill-mannered? Are you well-mannered for stealing someone else's boyfriend? I was planning to

talk to you nicely, but you..."

"Who do you think you are, to be so arrogant in front of me?" Amelia interrupted with a sardonic grin, blatantly mocking her.

Chloe was astounded, entirely unprepared for what had just happened. She had never been subjected to such humiliation before.

"People said you were cunning, but I didn't believe it and even had good intentions towards you. Now I see you are as despicable as the rumors say,you wretch." She suddenly stepped forward, grabbing a folder from the table and hitting Amelia with it.

Suddenly, a thick piece of paper inside the folder flew out, slashing across Amelia's cheek and leaving a bloody mark.

Amelia felt a sharp pain on her face. Touching it, she found her hand covered in blood.

She screamed in panic, "Wendy, Wendy!"

Wendy was an assistantLucius had hired for Amelia, skilled in both literature and martial arts.

Usually, whenever Amelia called, she would come running immediately, but there was no movement outside the door this time.

Chloe was also stunned by the scene, looking at her hand in disbelief, the folder still in her hand. How could Bella be injured?

"You two-faced bitch, why are you pretending? I didn't even touch you!"She stepped forward and grabbed Amelia's shoulder, pulling her up, only to see that the side of Amelia's face she was clutching was bleeding profusely.

Chloe trembling with fear. stepped back, her face pale."How could this happen?"

She had only one thought in her mind:Leave here now.

"It wasn't me. I didn't do it, it wvas your own carelessness!" She said in a panicked voice, turning and running away.

"Wendy," Amelia's voice was filled with despair as she looked towards the door.

At that moment, the door was pushed open, and a tall, slender figure walked in.

Their eyes met, and Chris was immediately shocked, quickly walking over,"What happened to your face?"

Amelia, with tears streaming down her face, hesitated to treat the wound, fearing it would worsen, and said to him, "Mr. Spencer, can you help me find a doctor? My face was cut by her."

Although it was more outrageous than she had expected,it was still within her control.

Chris looked at her tearful eyes with a complex expression, then stepped forward to help her up, "I'll take you to the hospital."

His voice was deep, tinged with worry.

Amelia's hands were covered in blood, and she was trembling with fear, her face pale.

Chris keptglancing back at her while driving, seeing her trembling shoulders and anxious face, feeling a heavy discomfort in his chest.

They soon arrived at the hospital.

The doctor examined her, and fortunately, the wound was not serious and didn't require stitches because they went to the doctor in time, but it needed medication and proper care, avoiding exposure to water.

"Doctor, will it leave a scar? I'm afraid my boyfriend will be angry,"Amelia asked, looking up.

Before the doctor could respond, Chris was furious and said, "You're still thinking about him at a time like this?"

Unknowingly, his emotions had been stirred.

Amelia wiped away her tears, "Then who else should I think about? You?Not a chance."

Chris's face immediately turned ashen. 'Fine, if you're so foolish and unaware, don't blame me for making decisions for you.'
