Chapter 267: Chapter 267

Jenna Roland pursed her lips at Ethan Roscente's words. She had always been a light sleeper, waking at the slightest disturbance.

For him to claim she slept like a log was absolutely impossible.

Recalling Ethan's strange behavior this morning, Jenna became even more convinced something had happened last night.

Too bad she had no proof. Otherwise, she'd give him a proper interrogation!

Breakfast passed in unusual silence. Ethan set down his chopsticks and left without a backward glance.

Jenna froze. Normally he'd at least say "I'm leaving." Today he just walked out?

She bit her chopstick, brows furrowed.

Was he... angry?

Ethan sat in his car, ears burning. He desperately tried to forget this morning's embarrassing incident.

But the harder he tried, the clearer the memory became.

He covered his face in frustration. Jenna must think he's some kind of pervert now.

This was it. How could he ever face her again?

Taking a deep breath, Ethan stared out at their Beverly Hills neighborhood and sighed heavily.

He pulled out a cigarette and lit it.

Getting caught sniffing her pillow at dawn... his image was completely ruined.

No. He had to explain.

Ethan took out his phone and searched for Jenna's WeChat. After minutes of scrolling, he still couldn't find her contact.

His frown deepened. Had his assistant deleted her?

Then he remembered—he'd never added a nickname for her. His assistant routinely purged unlabeled contacts...

Rubbing his temples, Ethan copied Jenna's number to re-add her.

The notification read: "This user is not in your contacts."

She'd deleted him.

He stared at the screen for a long moment before finally exiting the app.

Fine. They'd be divorced in a year anyway. What did it matter?

Ethan started the engine and slammed the accelerator, speeding toward his company.

After cleaning the kitchen, Jenna gave the entire house another thorough scrub.

She stripped Ethan's bedding and tossed it into the washing machine.

Exhausted, she collapsed onto the sofa and stared blankly at the ceiling.
