Chapter 337: Chapter 337

Jenna licked her dry lips and whispered, "Aunt Tanya, didn't you say we had connections? Why are you still so afraid of the urban management officers?"

Tanya sighed, twisting the hem of her shirt. "He helped us out the last five times we got caught. But even the best connections can't handle constant trouble."

"I see." Jenna nodded. "Let's watch out for each other from now on."

A relieved smile crossed Tanya's face before she returned to her own stall.

The street's tension eased after evading the officers.

Soon, a crowd gathered around Jenna's stall.

She noticed a pattern—once someone stopped to browse, more customers would follow.

The booming business became overwhelming.

During the rush, she and Milo couldn't keep up. Two women slipped away with stolen clothes.

Without surveillance and with Tanya busy, they had to swallow the loss.

After the crowd thinned, Jenna stormed over to Tanya. "How could they be so shameless? The clothes aren't even expensive!"

Tanya wiped her sweat. "There are regular thieves on this street. You need to stay alert."

"I saw them!" A middle-aged fruit vendor chimed in. "They stuffed the clothes into their bags and walked off like nothing happened."

Jenna and Tanya exchanged a look—both recognizing the woman's cold indifference.

They silently agreed to ignore her.

Just then, a black Maybach pulled up across the street.

The luxury car instantly drew everyone's attention.

Tinted windows shielded the interior from prying eyes.

Milo gaped. "Sis! That's a Maybach! My life would be complete if I could drive something like that."

Jenna didn't look up. "Study hard, and you'll afford any car someday."

"Yeah, right." He scoffed. "Unless you're the boss, who can buy a million-dollar car?"

Inside the Maybach, Ethan Roscente's long fingers tapped rhythmically against his knee.

His black shirt accentuated his broad shoulders and narrow waist. His wristwatch gleamed coldly under the sunlight.

His intense gaze pierced through the window, fixed on Jenna as she worked.

The corners of his stern lips lifted unconsciously when she smiled.

Assistant Lucas followed his boss's line of sight, mentally noting the girl selling clothes.
