Lucas Roscente was organizing documents when Ethan Roscente's deep voice came from behind. "Go buy some clothes from that stall."
Lucas froze.
He turned stiffly toward the roadside vendor—a women's clothing stall. Him? Buying women's clothes?
But Ethan's orders were never to be questioned. Lucas swallowed hard. "Yes, Mr. Roscente."
He stepped out of the car and trudged toward the stall.
As he approached, Lucas studied the vendor. The young woman with a ponytail didn't seem like someone who'd have any connection to Ethan.
Was this sudden charity? That didn't sound like Ethan.
"How much for this dress?" Lucas picked up a pink sundress at random.
Jenna Roland frowned slightly. The man in the tailored suit didn't look like the type to buy such clothes.
But she quickly smiled professionally. "Eighty-five dollars. It's chiffon—perfect for summer."
"Wrap it up." Lucas didn't hesitate.
Jenna neatly folded the dress into a bag. Lucas selected several more items without asking prices.
"That'll be $435 total," Jenna said. "Cash or card?"
"Card." Lucas scanned the payment and turned to leave with the bags.
Milo Roland whispered, "Sis, that guy didn't even haggle. Wish all customers were like that."
Jenna shook her head with a smile. "In business, you meet all kinds." Her gaze lingered on Lucas as he climbed into the black Maybach.
What she didn't notice were the piercing eyes watching her intently from behind the tinted window.
