Chapter 377: Chapter 377

Sylvia Savigny stared at the ceiling, fingers tapping lightly on the bedsheet. Better to take action than wait helplessly. At least this way, there was a sliver of hope.

She nodded slowly, agreeing to Jenna Roland's plan.

"In my current condition, I'll have to wait until I'm discharged," Sylvia said, her voice weak but resolute.

The hospital door swung open as Stella Laurent hurried in, looking exhausted.

"Did they file the case?" Jenna asked urgently.

Stella sank into a chair. "The police said there's insufficient evidence. They'll only pursue the two men in black for now." She gave a bitter smile. "Masks and hats—like finding a needle in a haystack."

All three knew the case would go nowhere.

"I have a new plan," Jenna lowered her voice. "We'll execute it after your sister is discharged."

Stella frowned. "What plan?"

As Jenna explained, Stella paled. "It's too dangerous! What if—"

"That's why we need Officer Liam Hill as a witness," Jenna's eyes gleamed. "Video and photos—irrefutable evidence."

"But the Valois family's influence—"

"Prepare two copies," Jenna cut in. "If the police ignore it, we'll go public. Let public opinion crush her."

After a moment's thought, Stella finally nodded.

Jenna pulled two pepper sprays from her bag. "Take these for protection."

"Where did you get these?" Stella gasped, accepting one.

"Prepared them when I worked at the club," Jenna shrugged. "Essential for self-defense."

Stella tucked the other under her sister's pillow.

"I should go," Jenna checked her watch.

Stella walked her to the elevator and hugged her tightly. "Thank you."

"Don't mention it," Jenna patted her back.

As the elevator doors closed, Jenna exhaled deeply. She decided to take a break—the street vending had worn her out.

Just outside the hospital entrance, Jenna froze mid-step.

Lucien Valois was approaching, flanked by two bodyguards in black.

Her pulse spiked. If that madwoman knew Lucien's true intentions...

Lucien's gaze lingered on her face for a second before coolly shifting away. He passed by without expression, as if she were a stranger.

Jenna clenched her fists, nails digging into her palms.
