Jenna Roland had always prided herself on being fearless. But today, under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Ethan Roscente kissed her until her cheeks burned crimson.
"Have you lost your mind?" she hissed through gritted teeth, fingers clutching the hem of her blouse.
Ethan chuckled, his warm breath brushing her earlobe. "What's wrong? Feeling shy?"
"There are people everywhere!" Jenna glared at him, the tips of her ears turning scarlet.
"Alright, alright. I'll be more careful next time." He pinched her cheek affectionately.
Before Jenna could retort, a black Audi pulled up beside them.
Wilson Parvis stepped out, his smile freezing when he spotted Ethan.
He swallowed hard and forced himself forward. "Miss Roland, Mr. Roscente. Sorry to keep you waiting."
Jenna noticed the bruise on his face and raised an eyebrow. "What happened to you?"
"Just... tripped and fell." Wilson stole a nervous glance at Ethan, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
Jenna nodded thoughtfully. "Let's go get the paperwork done."
Wilson trailed behind them like a frightened mouse, not daring to lift his head the entire time.
The process went smoothly. Outside the Land Resources Bureau, Jenna turned to Wilson. "Thanks for handling the orchard matter."
"My pleasure, truly." He waved his hands frantically.
Jenna's expression darkened. "But if I hear you're harassing women again—"
"I swear I won't!" Wilson backed away, hands raised in surrender.
As he scurried off, Jenna finally smiled. "My parents' orchard is finally back where it belongs."
Ethan watched her joyful expression with amusement. "What's next?"
"First, I'll clear out the remaining stock at the boutique. Then I'll visit the orchard." She rubbed her hands together. "This time, I'm keeping it safe."
"Call me if you need anything." He ruffled her hair. "Come on, I'll drive you home."
A mischievous glint appeared in Jenna's eyes. "What do you think about getting guard dogs for the orchard?"
Ethan laughed. "Whatever makes you happy."
Their shadows stretched long in the sunset. Jenna secretly slipped her hand into Ethan's, her heart full of contentment.
