Jenna pointed at the white minivan parked by the roadside. "I drove here myself. Come home early this afternoon. I'll cook something delicious for you."
"Alright." Ethan's lips curved slightly, his deep eyes shimmering with warmth. His striking features glowed under the sunlight, drawing admiring glances from passersby.
Jenna's heart swelled with pride. A husband this handsome must have countless admirers. But she wasn't lacking either—she matched him perfectly.
"I'll head out now."
"Drive safely."
She slid into the driver's seat and fastened her seatbelt. Through the rearview mirror, she saw Ethan standing motionless, watching her leave. His tall figure only disappeared from view when her car turned the corner.
Ethan's smile faded as his usual composed demeanor returned. He drove straight to the office.
...
At 5 p.m., Jenna closed her stall early. Passing by the market, she invited Milo and Ryan to join her grocery shopping.
Their cart overflowed with ingredients—spare ribs for Ethan, braised fish for Milo, spicy chicken for Ryan. Only her own favorite dish was missing.
Back at Beverly Hills, the trio immediately got to work in the kitchen. Milo washed vegetables, Ryan prepped ingredients, while Jenna took charge of cooking. The sizzling wok filled the air with mouthwatering aromas.
Ethan arrived home promptly at six. Shrugging off his suit jacket and rolling up his sleeves, he helped arrange the dishes.
By 6:30, eight exquisite dishes covered the dining table. Milo and Ryan served rice, ushering everyone to their seats.
"Sis, why don't you head to the orchard tomorrow? We'll handle the clothing stall," Ryan suggested between bites.
"You two selling women's clothing?" Jenna paused her chopsticks, eyes twinkling.
"It's not lingerie." Ryan grinned. "Don't worry, we've got this."
Jenna burst out laughing. "Fine. Starting tomorrow, I'll deliver the goods and go straight to the orchard."
After dinner, when Jenna moved to clear the table, Ethan stopped her. "You've worked hard enough cooking." He glanced meaningfully at Milo.
Taking the hint, Milo practically pushed Jenna out of the kitchen before dragging Ryan in to wash dishes.
"Impressive!" Jenna gave Ethan a thumbs-up.
Amusement danced in Ethan's eyes as he guided her to the sofa. "Hire some help at the orchard. I don't like you working there alone."
The evening news played softly on TV. Jenna turned down the volume. "It's too early to hire workers when we're not making profits yet."
