Chapter 32: Chapter 32

She's My Wife!

Evelyn was speechless, utterly bewildered by Julian's sheer audacity and delusion.

She glanced at her phone, checking the time.

She had already wasted too much of her day dealing with Julian and Isabella.

"If you refuse to believe me, that's your problem. Now, move." Without another look, Evelyn stepped forward, intending to leave.

Julian's chest constricted. Before he could think, he blocked her path. "Evelyn, how long are you going to keep this charade going?"

Impatience laced his tone, but beneath the frustration, something else churned—a nagging unease he couldn't suppress.

There was an unsettling certainty in Evelyn's voice.

His instincts screamed that this wasn't just a spiteful act.

But his pride violently rejected the notion.

Evelyn loved him. She always had. No other man could possibly have taken his place.

Clenching his jaw, he forced the doubts down. "Evelyn, my patience is running out," he said in a low, commanding voice. "You're coming home with me today. That's final."

"Get lost!" Evelyn snapped, her eyes flashing with exasperation. "I am going home—my home. What gives you the right to stop me?"

Julian's expression turned to ice. "Evelyn," he warned, his voice dropping dangerously. "Don't test me."

She gave him a slow, deliberate once-over and scoffed. "Oh? What now? You're angry? Planning some punishment? Who do you think you are, Julian?"

She gestured impatiently. "Move. You're in my way."

Seeing her determination, Julian swallowed his anger, attempting a different tack. "Evelyn, you're just saying all this to provoke me, right? Fine. You've succeeded. You've gotten under my skin. Now, let's end this foolishness and go home."

Without waiting for a reply, he reached out and grabbed her wrist forcefully.

Evelyn recoiled instantly, yanking her arm back as if burned. "Don't touch me!" she hissed. "If you don't stop harassing me this instant, I will call the police!"

Her voice was sharp and clear, cutting through the air and drawing the attention of everyone nearby.

A wave of excitement rippled through the gathering crowd.

"Is she really going to call the cops?"

"What's happening here?"

"That guy looks shady. Total abuser vibes."

Julian's head snapped toward the man who spoke, his glare sharp enough to slice.

The passerby flinched, pressing a hand to his chest. "See? I told you! He looks violent!"

"Absolutely. A disgrace."

"Wait, who's the other woman next to him? What's her role?"

"Isn't it obvious? That's the mistress."

"He has a mistress and he's still chasing another woman? What a scumbag."

"Probably just prefers the prettier one."

As the murmurs grew louder and more accusatory, Julian's face darkened with pure humiliation.

Gritting his teeth, he pointed accusingly at Evelyn. "Stop lying! She's my wife!"

Evelyn fired back without a second's hesitation, her voice ringing out confidently. "He's the one lying! You can all see the truth. I have a husband. I came here today to buy clothes for him, and this man will not leave me alone. He thinks he can harass me because I'm by myself!"

Her words ignited immediate outrage.

"Come over here, dear! Don't let him near you!"

"What a creep, preying on women. Disgusting."

"Just call the police, ma'am. We're your witnesses. The store cameras have everything recorded."

One after another, voices rose in support, condemning Julian without mercy.

His face burned with shame.

For the first time, he was completely and utterly speechless.
