Chapter 33: Chapter 33

She's The Deceiver

Isabella could no longer stand by. The whispers of the crowd were spiraling into outright fiction. She felt compelled to defend Julian.

"You have it all backwards," she stated firmly, directing a sharp glare at Evelyn. "He isn't harassing her. They were a couple. She is the one being dishonest. They even had a wedding ceremony recently."

Evelyn released a short, derisive sound. Her gaze was frosty. "You should be careful with your words. You arrived with him, blocking my path. And you're standing so close to him now. If you claim I'm his girlfriend, then what does that make you?"

She tilted her head, a mask of false curiosity on her face. "Are you so devoted that you help him pursue other women? Are you suggesting I become the mistress? Because from my perspective, that role seems to already be filled by you."

The onlookers, always eager for drama, gasped at the implication. Their judgmental stares immediately swiveled toward Isabella.

"Oh, I see now. There was something off about her. She's the other woman."

"It makes sense! He cheated on this beautiful lady, and now he's having regrets. He's here begging for forgiveness."

"Exactly! Just look at his guilty expression."

People had seen enough real-life scandals to connect the dots instantly. Some realities were stranger than fiction.

Isabella was stunned by how swiftly Evelyn had turned the tables. Fury burned within her. She wanted to retaliate, but the barrage of accusations left her speechless and flustered.

"Stop inventing lies! I am not the other woman!" Isabella hissed, her voice tight with anger.

"Sure, sure. That's exactly what a side piece would say."

"Honestly, what is a young woman like you doing with a taken man?"

"Why are you still clinging to him? He left his ex, yet you're here harassing this lovely woman. What's the point? Just walk away."

A concerned shopper pulled out a phone. "This has gone too far. I'm calling security."

Within moments, a team of mall security guards arrived. Their presence immediately changed the atmosphere.

The entrance was too congested, disrupting the flow. Unable to disperse the bystanders, the guards focused on the apparent source of the trouble: Julian and Isabella.

"Officers, it's these two causing the disturbance," a woman announced, pointing at them. "They blocked this young lady and tried to drag her away. Isn't that attempted kidnapping?"

Julian's patience shattered. "What the hell? Kidnapping?" he exploded, his voice rising in frustration. "She's my girlfriend!"

A man in the crowd scoffed loudly. "You're lying. She said she has a husband."

Julian turned his furious gaze to Evelyn, his jaw clenched. "Evelyn, stop this charade. Tell them the truth. Now. Or you will regret this."

The crowd erupted at his threatening tone.

"Did you hear that? He threatened her! What a piece of work! This is unbelievable! Security, take him to the police! That's the only way he'll learn!"

"Absolutely! We don't need men like that here! Get them out!"

The collective anger of the crowd left no room for argument or defense. Before Julian or Isabella could utter another word, the security guards, acting on the overwhelming consensus, swiftly escorted them both out of the shopping mall.
