Samuel Wilson was finishing his report on the recent developments at Stellar Group. He couldn't contain his admiration as he concluded. "Mrs. Levine's strategy has been absolutely flawless... I was genuinely concerned when she stormed into Stellar Group alone, but she completely dominated them in less than four months!"
William listened quietly, though the subtle satisfaction was evident beneath his composed exterior.
"We have reliable sources confirming that Christopher Brown has been running around town, badmouthing Benjamin Scott everywhere. He's calling him an ungrateful snake. Jonathan Locke and Patrick Longman are both reconsidering their positions too—in short, Simon's foundation is crumbling. His company's stock prices have started dipping because of it. Most importantly, no one at Stellar trusts him anymore. Everyone just wants to keep their jobs and remain at Stellar, so their loyalty naturally shifts to Mrs. Levine." William took a slow sip of his tea, clearly enjoying the reverent tone in Samuel's voice.
"The only remaining challenge for Mrs. Levine is Sophia Mitchell. She could still cause some trouble within Stellar Group. But there's no question that Sophia would never come out on top against Mrs. Levine. If they ever clash, Mrs. Levine won't be the one who loses."
Samuel had developed complete confidence in Elise. "Also, Mrs. Levine is personally overseeing production for next season's fashion line. Her schedule is incredibly tight, and she can't afford any mistakes. She mentioned she won't be able to visit for the next few days, but she promised to come when you're being discharged."
William's smile vanished instantly, while Samuel struggled to hide his own amusement.
His boss had become surprisingly attached, and Samuel suddenly thought William had real potential as a kept man.
"When can I get discharged?" William demanded.
"In three to five days, assuming no complications," Samuel replied.
"Make it three days," William stated flatly. "I need to be out of here in three days."
"Yes, Mr. Levine," Samuel responded respectfully.
After all, anyone who stood between William and seeing Elise must have a death wish!
Elise glanced at the clock in her office, noticing it was well past 10 PM.
She had only appointed Sophia as production manager for appearance's sake—something this important required her personal attention.
Not only was Elise monitoring their progress daily, but she also visited the production site whenever possible. After all the delays, there was zero room for error.
Because of this, she hadn't visited William for three days, despite her promise to check on him daily.
She had thought today would be smoother and she could leave work early, but unexpected issues kept her until now.
Still, she wondered what William was doing at this moment.
After a moment's hesitation, she typed out a text and sent it. [Are you asleep?]
