Could it be that Alexander had taken a liking to her and wanted to give her the necklace?

It was the same man who had tried to assault Wendy in the garden earlier.

"Sarah, stop right there!" The man roared, stepping forward to block her path.

"You can't run! How dare you deceive me! You said that woman was a promiscuous slut and encouraged me to harass her. Now, because of your lies, I've lost my deal with the Turner family and have been kicked out of Aurora City. You ruined me! You owve me!"

The man screamed hysterically, and foul-smelling saliva spattered onto her face. His crazed demeanor terrifying Sarah.

"I didn't lie!" Sarah was terrified but still tried to defend herself, her voice shrill.

"You! Don't slander me! I have no idea what you're talking about!" Saruh's face twisted with fear as she tried to push the man away, but he grabbed her again.
